Knee replacement on right knee on the 28th. Left knee hopefully before January. No cartilage. Pain meds are only briefly effective.

Oh! I'm feeling your knee! I have an appointment with orthopedic doctor next week (right knee "scoped" out about 17 years ago and I'm afraid the warranty has run out). Following the exact same pattern of progression of pain/mobility as before--hoping for a repeat procedure and nothing more - Rehab only about 3 weeks.

Will be thinking of you. As with all surgeries, I pray the outcome results in an improved outcome that is more than worth the payment exacted by the procedure.

Morning light by the shop in the woods. At the bottom of the picture are all of the off cuts of the logs. Plan to cut them in 2 ft lengths to kiln dry the lumber.

Adalyn playing in the AC box. She cracked us up for a long time. She would close the door, stick her head out the window and say Hello.

Thank you for your stewardship of the bees. I am so pleased when I see a few buzzing around my flower bed. It must be amazing to see them all working so industriously.

Your granddaughter is adorable.

Oh my- the clutter above, but I can get into a good recipe now and again, asked for or not. (Don't get me started on cheese cake or pound cake.....)

Today is the first inservice and grand opening of the new school year, although school doesn't officially start for the kiddos quite yet). I am: (To poach a line from the Reeces Peanut Butter Cup commercials) Not there and

Not Sorry.

Joyfully seeking what the day may bring and mindful that time is a precious gift. I pray that I will be wiser in my us of it this time around.

Maintenance is a funny kind of thing. My weight continues to creep downward, ever so slowly. It's confounding, as I feel like I decided at the beginning of summer to loosen up, and just maintain for awhile and stop trying to lose. I just wanted to stop the scary upward trend. I've been looking back over my food journals from this spring and my weight charts. If I was recording truthfully, and I think I was, I was eating fewer calories on many days than I am now. Instead, my weight was shooting up in May. So what's happening now?

Less cortisol, better sleep? Can this really impact our weight?

I'm definitely more consistent in tracking and measuring. This winter/spring I would be all gung ho for a week or so, then get discouraged...you know the drill

I'm eating more fruits and vegetables, am I improving my gut bacteria? I've read that isn't easy to do... but maybe

I'm eating bigger meals, even more calories, but reducing snacking, so I'm eating less frequently, and trying to go 12 hours between my last food in the evening and my first meal the following day.

I'm trying to move more, but I am not doing any specific exercise or workout.

Another thought about what's happening in our world, and what can we possibly do? I am a total acolyte for this philosophy, I believe it can have a huge impact:

Do small things with great love. ~ Mother Teresa
