Another great weather day. Sadly, DH has to work. I don't have much planned, and I am fine with that. I have some eggplant from the farmers market on Wednesday. I thought I might go pick up some more veggies and try making ratitouille. I've never made it before, but there was a recipe in yesterday's paper that looked intriguing.

I'm upright.
This afternoon I'm driving with book club friends to The Big City for an early dinner and a 7:30 pm theatre performance. Afterward, we'll coffee up and drive for two hours back home. Will be a LONG night. Oh well ... I have nothing better to do.
And I will obviously benefit from some human companionship.
That's all I got today.

It sounds like both DD and Ann have good plans today. We went to the beach for a bit and are going out to eat with SILs tonight at a good local spot.
The last two days involved putting together 1.5 inches of documentation needed to put DH on a list for reduced cost housing after a year or two, which will stop the hemorrhaging of money that is going to occur prior to that. I am relieved that it is done and in the mail.
So weird afternoon yesterday: I had a crab cake at a place on the harbor where I usually eat at the bar facing the water. This guy ended up seriously chatting me up and based on some google research he seems for real. A fair amount of money, good looks and 9 years younger than me. Good for the ego... Then an old boyfriend contacted me last night to get together for a drink next week. That one is pretty tame though - we did the same last year when he bared his soul about something that occurred when we were dating over 40 years ago.
Anyway, time to fold laundry - DH and I are washed, shaved, and dressed for dinner already so I can just relax a bit after that. Hopefully I won't fall asleep as I've pretty much been awake since 12:30 am after 4 hours of sleep.
Have a satisfactory Saturday!

The ratatouille veggies looked so pretty in the colander when I was rinsing them, and also in their beautiful piles after I rough chopped them. And the garlic, rosemary, thyme , very sensory experience. It was like a still life painting. They are into their first hour of simmering and the house smells a.mazing!

Dwelling in the world of.....Puppies! DS1 spent the day and brought a new addition- Swann, the Welsh Terrier pupstar. Very laid back in the house, but acts the true clowny dog outdoors.

Not much going on today. I walked with my dad. Thinking it was only 4 miles I skipped the toe socks and taping my "ring toes" back since I get pinch blisters on them where my middle toes tread on the fourth toes. Huge mistake. Giant bloody blisters on both toes! I'm hobbled. Argh. I went to the grocery store after and kept cutting things off my list when I thought of how far I would have to walk in the huge store to get to them. Tonight we went to a very cute local bar to hear a friend play the guitar and sing. Lots of fun except we met an old friend of my dad's wife's and his girlfriend and she is a complete nightmare. So the friend singing part was fun. The other not so much. And I like almost everyone so you know she's bad if I was ready to gnaw my arm off to get away from her!
Tomorrow, we are having a bunch of people over for Sunday brunch. The singer from tonight and his wife and another couple are coming. The singer is such an interesting guy. He was a partner in a law firm forever, decided he hated it, quit bought a farm, opened a catering business and sings on the side. He is eccentric and fun and weirdly wonderful. So he's cooking tomorrow in my kitchen. The master at work!
Anyway, that's all I know... hugs all around.
