It's a beautiful day again today. The weather here has been incredible the last week. No humidity! Just sun, in the 70s and nice breezes. I went for a walk at a nature area. It's called Arcadia Marsh and they just finished building a 3/4 mile boardwalk over the marshland. As an out and back it's 1.5 miles of what feels like a CBS Sunday Morning nature segment. Just the sound of wind, water and birds... Very peaceful.
What do you have planned that's fun today? I think another walk for me...
- Within Range: yes
- General Wellbeing: 9 on SS
- 10,000+ Steps: 9328
- Fitness: walking
- Self-Care: meditation
- Fun: gardening
- I learned/relearned: If not now, when ?
- Intentions: Seek balance & relax, rejuvenate, & recalibrate !!
The more I take time to meditate and live in the moment, some of the overwhelming emptiness is dissipating a bit. I am comforted by the sense that Shel transitioned on her own terms and that she looks for opportunities to reassure us that she is thriving as long as we keep our receivers dialed to all frequencies...visual, auditory, tactile, kinesthetic, olfactory ... My spiritual beliefs reassure me that her heart and spirit will continue to speak to us in a rich multitude of ways. I am grateful that she is not in pain and that she breathes in peace at a summit unimaginable to mortals.
I love and appreciate all of the members of this priceless tribe.

We have some relief from the humidity today and it is beautiful weather wise, but back to humidity tomorrow. I think I'll take Justice for a long walk shortly. SIL is supposed to come for her birthday today but I guess I won't be celebrating it with them as she never gave me any advance information and though I am free until 2:30 today after that DH will be around all weekend. One of the things I really hate is that unless I make the plans, no one suggests getting together. I guess I'll go out by myself for lunch alone again as I did yesterday.
Anyway, this is now on the wall next to my bed in place of a framed poster that DH liked but I never did. It gives me comfort:
Have a fine Friday!

Liz I think people depend on you in so many ways, including being the social director. I'm wondering if I'm guilty of doing that to some of my uber capable and organized friends. Since my sil died, and my husband and I adopted if not now when, I've made deliberate attempts to be the one *****achs out to make plans and stay connected. But I know there are some people who I probably leaned on too much to do the heavy lifting of friendship, not because I didn't treasure them, but because "they were good at it". It's not fair to them, and it's not fair to you.
Shel was so magnificent. I celebrate her spirit, her glorious life and her generous and wonderfully unjudgmental counsel.
I've been in a very low place since Shel was diagnosed. I cannot find any peace in her death.
I need to be still.
