My heart is so full of things I want to say, but the words look silly and trite when I type them. Shell, I know that we have souls, because in the midst of all of this, your irrepressible soul shines like a beacon.
Ps I'm not good with shots of alcohol, mine is mostly imbibed with fruit juice and other accoutrements. If I had to mix something with straight alcohol, I'd go with Limoncello, because my afterlife would definitely involve elements of Italy.
Good Morning All, Decided to get up super early after DH left for work so I could potter. Fireplace is going to warm the house, washing on, dishes all popped away and Im enjoying a second cup of tea while the puppies snooze in their beds till its light outside.
A quieter day today in comparison to the weekend. Just work then I will take over some books to my mum, collect the mail and pot out some seeds. We are meeting our neighbours for dinner around 6pm so no cooking for me - yay
Things continue to ramp up with trying to prepare everything before we come to the USA. I have lists upon lists as we prep 2 city houses (mums) and the farm for our absence. Have 2 trips before we leave. Im taking my mum away for a week for her birthday (will work from the unit we have booked) and then DH Graduation weekend in NSW 3 days before we leave. Will get there in the end but man do I feel a little loaded right now but thankful
Liz - Im glad DS is coming to see the facility as I think it will really help. Its good he is processing and starting to come around. This is so hard on you. You have focus on his care and that is exhausting/draining. Yet there is the other side - watching the man you love disappear. I think you are one of the strongest ladies I have had the fortune to know and we are here for you x Take some time for you x You cant pour from an empty cup
Diane - Ohhh I would have loved to do a cold pickling class. How cool. Glad you can go out and sleep in the RV to get some relief from the heat. Still messes with my head to read you are sweltering. Im layering up and braving the cold to garden etc - he he he
Shel - so wonderful to hear from you. You are in my thoughts all the time x As the others have said, I think you are just amazing. One of a kind x Re the drink - I also wasnt much of a spirits girl when I used to drink - always found them super strong to get down so I think Baileys would be a nice option as its creamier and smoother. Sending you all my love and strengthxx
Cec - Hope you are enjoying some solitude now all your guests have gone. While its wonderful, its also exhausting. Enjoy the serenity of it just being you and Ferg for a while
BB- Sorry to hear about the AC issues - UGGG timing with all the heat and 2 little ladies to keep cool. I hope everything is fixed very soon
Peps - Loving seeing your pics on facebook. I peeked last night. You all look so healthy and happy :) Warms my heart
Diane S - Hope you are having a nice weekend with no gallery duty so you can unwind and relax
David - How is your head healing? Have the centipedes all left the building? Look forward to more Adalyn stories soon
DD - Loving reading about your staycation with your DH. Sounds blissfully relaxing :)
Miss150 - Hope you are also having a great weekend
Ann - Safe travelling and wonderful you got to speak to Shel x Hope your weed lady is hurtling around on your newly repaired mower in your absence and you come back to freshly trimmed luscious lawns :)
Dont think I have missed anyone but if I have Hi and apologises. I best go hang out this load of washing by the fireplace and start my work day - 6.20am here
Enjoy the rest of your weekend all
Hugs from Australia
Shirley
Greetings Precious and Precocious People
I think I weighed 158 today. That was 10 hours ago. Whatever.
So this morning my computer decided to seizure and it wouldn't let me do much of anything. Just froze. So DH runs a virus scan to no avail. Meanwhile I am feeling like a double amputee and furthermore was out of coffee filters! What a nightmare.
So we did what any reasonable person would do: took dog Chip to the beach. He is 12 years old and has never been good about coming when called. Even so I was going to let him run loose except there were quite a few other loose dogs there. All were friendly enough but there was one big Samoyed that just had that "look" that I didn't trust. So we happily walked up and down the wave line and only got wet a few times. Shel this is Trinidad State Beach - by Trinidad Head that you walked up. So I got a few thou steps in but no stairs credit for walking up the dunes.
When we got back, DH had another idea on fixing this computer. Turns out he is designated as an administrator on here and he had overloaded his storage capacity. So he added more. Works fine now. I was already on line shopping for a new one.
Liz, glad DS is coming around. Seeing the place is a good idea. I just have a feeling its going to work out well for you as it did for me when we had to move my Mom.
Shel you are an astonishing and fabulous person. Such thoughtful comments though I have no doubt you are not totally zen and maybe doing some primal screaming. Glad you and DD can talk and not avoid the issue. And that your parents can visit and that you still have them. And I totally respect your looking into the "final drink" option. Forgive me if its offensive but couldn't the alcohol be something more enjoyable like a pina collida? I vote for merlot. Glad you are seizing the joy around you. We all get joy from you. You exude it in your posts. I still laugh when I think about the one with the baby in the back pack attacking her dad's man bun. Thought about it the other day when I saw a very awkward teenager with an extremely unflattering "boy bun" at the dog show.
Shirley you are the energizer bunny! Wish I could get a transfusion from you.
Pizza on the menu tonight. One slice is so plenty.
My heather garden is really looking great now. Especially considering I do NOTHING. Gotta get a picture.
Peps, love your report on the dog show judge remarks. You should indeed be super proud. Ditto be proud of that stowaway border terrier you had in pictures.
We put Chip in the back seat of the bolt to go to the beach. Usually he rides in a crate but its not far and we thought what the heck. Before we left the garage he stood on the armrest and opened the back window fully! He was just trying to see but who knew we had to put the kid locks on with Chip in the back seat!!
Thats about it. Take care are. Diane S
