Greetings Darlings
157 today I think. Weighed so many hours ago I forgot.
Today was spent taking pictures of art work produced at our studio. We celebrate 20 years this fall and are making a poster of 20 pieces made there. One of our board members takes good photos and came over to use our lights and set up. Went well. Not like DH who works himself into a tizzy if a battery goes bad.
Liz I saw the FB of your DH dancing. What a good time he was having! Hope he gets to do that when his residency changes. While my mother didn't have the degree of dementia that your DH does, it was a blessed relief to know she was in a safe nice place.
Ann, donuts for a tractor repair!! Good deal. Dinner out with a friend is a good thing.
And DD how wonderful of you to make the effort to see old friends and seize the day. No regrets.
Peps looking forward to more coverage of the adventures of the Goat. Enjoy the trip.
I stopped at the co op and picked up one of their chicken pot pies. So good. We split one pie and its a full dinner. My travel friend and I stopped for fish tacos. She was able to eat two. I ate most of one and brought the other to DH. I can't imagine eating full portions anymore.
More gallery tomorrow. Later. Diane S.
Home from another afternoon at a Minneapolis lake. I don't know if I mentioned this before. There is a chain of lakes within the city boundaries of Minneapolis (5 total I think). When the city was developing, the powers that be decided the lakes were for everyone, and they are owned by the Minneapolis park board. Each lake is surrounded by bike and walking trails. Going for "a walk around the lakes" is a common getting to know you date. Anyhow, the beaches are free, and no one owns the lake shore, it belongs to the citizens. On the other side of the parkways that go around the lakes, are indeed the houses of the rich and famous. They have beautiful views, but they share the actual lakes with all of us. I love this so much about Minneapolis, I feel like it reflects the values of the Scandinavian people who originally settled here. I digress...
So we again enjoyed a day at the very democratic lake, this one named Nokomis. We ordered lunch for pick up from Panera Bread, it was sitting there pretty as can be for us to just run in and grab. Drove to the lake, set up our chairs, ate, then DH read and snoozed while I alternately swam and read. Such relaxation, doing a slow backstroke, Sun on my face, or floating and watching a translucent blue dragonfly rest on my toe. It's like praying or meditating.

DD, you and your DH truly know how to live.
Minneapolis sounds like a beautiful, sensible, sane place to live.
Except for the winters.

This city is paradise in the summer, lakes, parks, green, bike trails, free outdoor concerts... I love it so much. But we often remark about the unsuspecting souls who get transferred here during the summer~ this place is awesome, ~ fall~ this place is awesome ~winter~ this place is a cold dark hell!!! ~spring~ what is going on, why is it still snowing? ~summer~ all is forgiven, this place is awesome!
That's funny. And I'm sure exactly spot on!

More excellent sleep last night. I like the new alarm that I set to tell me it's time to go to sleep. I'm keeping that. :)
Book club meeting last night was also excellent. What a good discussion we had of "Less" by Andrew Greer. Then we had a marvelous discussion of other books we have all loved over the years and the movies that have, mostly successfully, been made from them.
The Camelbak is still being helpful for my water intake. I'm not getting in my 8 glasses a day, but I AM getting in 32 or more ounces of pure, unadulterated H2O. That's better than it was a month ago.
Today is packing day for the U.Iowa trip. I'll leave early tomorrow morning for my 400-mile drive. My writing assignments are finished, and I'll make copies this afternoon to share with the class.
Finally, I have only one more day to work on my post-colonoscopy issues. Geez! I've never been this stopped up before, not even after surgery.
I can't promise how regular my postings will be while I'm gone, because I know we'll be meeting/working/writing during long days. However, I'll endeavor to chirp up at least a few times.
Today's theme: Do what needs to be done.
