Quick 2 minute touch base as I have to get in the shower. DH had a great time at the Memory Cafe Jazz lunch yesterday. If you are on FB you'll see him dancing with a friend we've met through our support groups.

Today it is off to the financial planner. Last night I broke 6 months of spending into categories. Ouch! I hope I don't walk out feeling like I'll be out of money in 5 years.

Have a thoughtful Thursday!

Yesterday was a bit weird, but even with the evening's overeating (went out to dinner with a friend who was recently widowed, then came home and ate Halo Top ice cream) it was still a good one.

I got some excellent sleep last night. And I drank more water than usual.

BTW, it's time to do something serious to encourage a post-colonoscopy bowel movement.

More busyness planned for today - inside and outside. Then book club tonight.

Today I will focus on water, walking, yoga@home, and fiber. Feeling good. :)

Today's theme: Water, walking, yoga@home, fiber.

Quick check in! We are onto the 5th set of guests for the summer. I can't wait until everyone leaves Saturday and we're guestless for the first time since late June.

Waiting for some thunderstorms this AM. Didn't eat badly yesterday. Apparently not buying that stuff in the first place is important. Who knew.

Good luck at the financial planner, Liz!

LOL - I definitely need to keep stuff out of the house!

Enjoy having some downtime. I like a balance between too much company and being lonely. I don't like either extreme.

Keeping stuff out of the house is paramount for me. Dear son can handle crackers, chips etc. If he buys them, he keeps them in the spare bedroom he's turned into his office. Out of sight is better for me, ignorance that they have even entered the house is best. I often have to close my eyes during food commercials (I know, so old school watching channels with commercials), or I get cravings.

Yesterday's theme was reconnecting. DH and I went out for breakfast, then stopped to visit his brother in law and niece (husband of his sister that passed away). We stayed almost 2 hours. We are rearranging and redefining our family in SILs absence, we are reminiscing, remembering ... After that, we ran a few errands, came home for a bit (where I had an unexpected encounter with a freshly cooked pizza), and then met up with a good friend from high school, who we hadn't seen for almost a year. I never fail to spend the evening laughing when I'm with him, and over the years DH and he have also become good friends. We try not to reminisce too much about our totally enthralling and interesting high school and college years in front of our husbands, but some always slips in. They are patient. My husband shared that before his sister's diagnosis, he didn't see her as much as he always planned to, the old, we should get together... when she was diagnosed, he realized he no longer had the luxury of soon, it had to be now, so he visited her frequently. His therapist asked DH what do you think you learned from your sister's death? He said, you can't wait to spend time with people you love. So I told my friend, and that is why we are sitting on this patio having dinner with you tonight. DH and I resolve to set up get togethers with people we love, but don't see often, because life's chores and minutia get in the way. Our continuing motto: if not now, when?

And my John Deere 5' zero-turn lawn mower is BACK!

ALREADY!

It was put on "Do This One First!" list at the cost of $7.95 for a dozen donuts.

BAM!
