I've always liked goats ( we had a pet goat named Skipper that thought she was one of the dogs), but now I love them even more.

As we talk of goats, a memory rose in my mind, two of my favorite students talking about LeBron James, and crowing GOAT, as they high fived each other over the outcome of a basketball game. I guessed it was a compliment, but not being sporty, I didn't know exactly what it meant. So I just looked it up:

Greatest Of All Time

The universe speaks, and we hear it's truth.

There is a bird in our yard who is very comfortable around us. A nondescript brown/gray bird. He hopped up to us on the deck yesterday and just stared, unafraid of us or the dogs. We said hello and he didn't get spooked.

Today I was giving Ferg a bath outside. We have a hose bib with hot and cold water taps, perfect for dog baths. I swear, it was the same bird. He hopped over to Ferg and I, looked at us with a tilted head, and proceeded to take a bath in the warm soapy runoff not 12 inches from our feet. So cute!

In terms of wildlife encounters, the bird is definitely more charming than the musk odor omitting snake. Hope you continue to see more of the bird, and less of the snake.
