Hi All,
Here late this morning as I have been running around lots - 2 slow cookers - making Pea and Ham soup to take to the farm this weekend. DSS, his partner and grandson are staying with my SIL - so making food to take over there.
Plant Lady is dropping in to collect a donation of plants - I had extra succulents - she fund raises for a womens school in Uganda. The money raised go to their sewing facility - they make Menstration packs for all the females in the slum areas. She is an amazing lady. I have bought all our garden plants through her and always donate extra. Small things make a difference
Had my 2 year post sleeve check up with the surgeon. He is happy with me and called me a success. We discussed my weight range. Im not happy going over 176lbs - by BMI figures I should be 125.4 - 143 but he said I would look skeletal and gaunt. 165 would be my ideal. I dont need to go back to see him unless I feel I need too. The dietican was also there and popped over for a chat. She said Im looking great too. Was a feel good afternoon. I spoke to a lady in the wait room who was 2 months out and had already dropped 39 lbs - encouraged her to keep going. It was nice to be able to show her the other side :) Absolutely no regrets - best thing I did for myself and my health
Off to the farm tonight once DH gets home. We have a trailer load of stuff to tow up. Decorative bricks to build a wall which I picked up free. Concrete mix (leftover from City garden reno) Plants and a Hay ring - Gal Steel to cover a round bale of hay. Will be a slow trip as its weighty
Nice weekend planned. Picking up an antique wardrobe tommorrow then will go to the green grocers. Likely lots of cooking as the whole family will eat together. Hoping to take DSS and his family out to breakfast Sunday morning as a treat
Well I had best get going. Lots of work to do
Will try and pop in over the weekend
Have a wonderful evening

Back from an all together glorious day. We tried a new lake since our favorite beach is closed at the moment. What we found next to the beach at Lake Nokomis, was a little shady Glen or cove, basically an opening in the trees with room enough for our chairs, cooler and a place for the kayak. Our own pocket beach. We read, swam, kayaked, chatted and picnicked. I'm a puddle right now, so relaxed. We stopped for pizza on the way home at a south Minneapolis institution, Fat Loernzo's. You know it's going to be good right?
Busy all day long. Started by opening the ac unit for the shop. It is huge. At first light I start moving some dirt around with the tractor so I can place some concrete for the outside unit. At 8 I went to PCP today for follow up visit and fasting labs. Down 6 lbs over the past 3 months. Yea. Should get lab results tomorrow. Held a grand baby and she hugged back. Several times she stopped playing and came over to hug me. She would lean her head on my lap and pat me. She has been doing this at her daycare but does not show affection much. Unless she is sick. I have to say it felt wonderful. I felt bad for DW and DD. They got nothing. - David
Ran across this in a YouTube comment. It spoke to me.
