I'm DEFINITELY a summer girl (even in my colors I think)! But I need to be close to water and have breeze.

Greeting all! It's lovely here, but going to get hot in the next week. Boo, as Peps would say.

Today I took a walk with my dad which was really nice. We saw a snake three houses down the road. I am not a fan and my dad even less so. But I walked a bit closer (not too close!) to get a better look at the two ft long thing. And he flared and lifted his head like a COBRA and hissed at me! I immediately went home and looked it up. It's an Eastern Hognose Snake. Harmless to humans, but does the head/hiss thing when it feels threatened. If that doesn't work, I guess he writhes and emits a "foul musk". And if THAT doesn't work, he'll roll over, open his mouth and play dead. So, basically an escalating drama snake! That beats a rattler in my book.

Later we have the neighbors coming over for a drink. And in the meantime, I am setting up my new motion sensor sprinkler to try to scare off the heretofore unscarecable deer.

Hugs all around...

Maybe the deer need to meet up with the snake and learn the true meaning of fear...

Good Morning All - up early and have already made most of tonights meal before Im starting work. Lamb Shepherds Pie topped with Sweet Potato. Have made a couple for my mum as well. So feeling productive this morning - may it continue he he he

Busy day as I need to help DS get packed for his trip with his Dad, Girlfriend and family. He leaves tommorrow. Also want to get him to help me clean out the hen house. Who knew 3 chooks could make such a mess! Picking up retaining wall blocks tonight so that should be good exercise - they will be taken up to the farm to start building walls around our parking area in front of the shed.
