Greetings Great Friends
158.5 today - depending on what weight I give my nightly and socks.
Liz glad you are making the deposit on the care center. Sounds like a good place with the encouragement of visitors. I bet DH takes to it well.
Well they say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I have always hated breakfast. Never wanted it growing up and my mother would get mad at me for not eating what was offered (mostly burnt toast). Yet most naturally thin people I know seem to eat it. Dr. Cirangle says one should consume 30g protein within the first hour of waking up. Phooey on that but I so think there is something to breakfast - eating earlier makes sure there is food further down your system later in the day so you don't get those raging hungries like I used to come home with after work. But do I do this? Not usually.
Leaving for Oregon tomorrow. Gotta pack stuff and try to groom the little monster. She does not cooperate. Gotta check weather reports. Its in a cute little coastal Oregon town.
Not much else here. Have a great week all. Diane S
The reason I started thinking about fasting is because I read about a biological process called autophagy. Basically, it's a process your body does to "cleanse" old cells, or repair and rejuvenate. There seems to be some research to suggest your body can really get at this process during fasting. What I can't figure out in the little reading I've done, is how long you have to fast to really get it going. I ordered Dr. Fungs The Obesity Code. I do know this, I am not going on any extended fast unless I'm getting a colonoscopy :)
I found out about fasting from next door neighbor at my Searcy house. My neighbor has fasted a week a couple of times. He did it because he is diabetic. I knew about the autophagy but can't remember how long the fast needs to be. He also has bad joint disease.

And speaking of colonoscopies, that's what I'm facing. Tomorrow (Wednesday) is my prep day, which I expect will be absolutely hellacious. Thursday morning is the sedated colonoscopy.
Today is Day 5 of 1200 cals/day. Mostly protein shakes and Healthy Choice meals. My latest trip was not a low-calorie journey.
On the home front, I was traveling for 2 very rainy weeks and came home to lawn mower problems, which meant that 6 acres of insanely rapidly growing grass wasn't mowed for 3 weeks. Am still plowing (literally) through that as we speak. I've also hired some weeding help, which starts tomorrow. Today a lawn service came to spray weed killer, grass fertilizer and tick/flea poison all over the front/back yards, and later this week someone comes to reactivate my sprinkler system. And yes, I know how silly a sprinkler system here sounds, given the . But it's necessary for some of the borders.
The good news is that my hydrangeas are glorious!
On the ME front, I'm feeling very low and hope it is situational. l see my therapist next Monday.
Have I mentioned before that summer is my LEAST favorite season? It's just too damn much heat and sunlight for my taste.
