Another day that started strong, and ended in grazing. Commonality: a big hit of sugar calories. It is quite possible to eat something like a Mcflurry and stay within a calorie goal, but apparently not for me.
Breakfast: sf chai latte, cottage cheese blueberries
Lunch: Panera corn chowder, part of a baguette, butter, and a big sugar cookie
Dinner: the rest of the soup and baquette. If I stop here, I'm still okay, but ....
Snacks: crackers, peanut butter toast, grilled asparagus, a diet coke and rum
Calories: who knows?
I begin again, with new resolve for the coming day. More protein, less sugar.
Just one concentrated hit of sugar (more than just a taste ie. one peanut M&M or the corner of a bread bun) will set off sugar and white carb cravings that I find difficult to withstand- as if more of "it" will satisfy the craving. Instead, the more I eat, the more I want, and the longer, then, it will take me to (painfully) detox.
For me, trying to put a fire out by throwing more wood at it never works. (Why I keep testing the truth- for me- of that logic......)
Skipped breakfast yesterday. Only had coffee before my workout.
B - coffee
Post workout - Vega Sport protein shake
Lunch - 3 oz tri tip,1 jumbo egg, 2 oz corn pudding
Snack - Quest Bar (cookie dough)
At the movies - popcorn & Coke Zero
Dinner - 1/2 hamburger (left over from the 4th) 1 pork rib.
Snack - 1 cup ice cream.
Calories were under 1700, protein was over 100, so I'm hoping I'm dealing with inflammation from salt and muscle repair. Weight is up 4 pounds in a week and my eating has not been off the rails. Not sure what's going on except that my exercise is up a notch this week.
So glad we decided to start this daily eats thread. It is really helping me with accountability and truth!
