7-2-19 Tuesday
Procedure went well yesterday. They actually used sandpaper on my scalp. I expected discomfort. Like a sunburn on my head. They did not disappoint. Aloe is my friend. I guess I will be covered up from the sunlight for the next few days.
Woke at 1 am so I feel a nap is in my future.
Gross content warning. The centipede invasion is still full on. Except I researched them and found they are millipedes. I kill about 100 per night. I was thinking they had zombie blood because I would kill one and walk back by the light and there would be another one. Went out the other morning while it was still dark. Put the spotlight on the block foundation of my shop. Thought it was just shadow until I could see them moving. Here I was spraying bug spray around the perimeter of the shop at 3 am by headlight. Thousands of millipedes. I scrubbed the floors in the shop yesterday morning before my procedure. This was one suggested pest control measure. -- Large numbers of these structure-invading pests are easily controlled by vacuuming and discarding the collected material. -- I will have to try that. May your day be millipede free.
Now for coffee.
More later, David

Mowed and did three loads of laundry yesterday, so I'm feeling satisfied ! Shirl, I agree with Devon... I would have loved your school year schedule !! Hugs to your sick baby !! David, ugh !! Gross invasion ! Hope your head feels better soon ! I'm trying to shift my weight to the lower end of my range as I don't like bouncing back and forth over the top AND I know I shift up fall and winter. Now into my 4th year post VSG, it is definitely more difficult.

Been reading but busy and in a funk so no specific replies. Except to say it's so cool that Australians can leave their winter to seek summer elsewhere (hmmm...I guess the same could be said for us! Maybe an Australia, New Zealand trip is in order. Then again, a 50 minute drive with a toddler was a mistake so I don't think so!), so glad they found out what was the matter with Fergus and he's on the mend. I haven't been to Gettysburg but would definitely like to take my girls when they're a little older. DH is all about the "fun" vacations but when I was a kid, my parents did a good job of making art museums and science museums and notable historical sites "fun." I cannot wait to take them to Williamsburg and Jamestown. As a Christmas gift a few years back, we sent my parents to Williamsburg at Christmastime and they still romanticize it. My sister tells me that schools have become much more stringent on absences and that's a darn shame. My friend is trying to take her kids to as many national parks as she can but says they are overrun and hot in the summertime and would like to go in October but the worry about being held back is keeping her. Hmm. I digress
Weight was definitely up over the weekend. I've been in such a tizzy of worry over my girls. I think it could be somewhat related to postpartum hormones. But I also don't like that the daycare caused me to second guess the physician--the one whose opinion I should rely on. I had a "what the hell" attitude toward eating this weekend. But not too much damage. Becca was feeling very ill on Saturday--eye gunk was worse, her eyes so puffy, looked like she was having trouble breathing. And her rash worsened over the weekend. Google fed my fear. I took her back to a nurse practitioner yesterday who said it wasn't allergy to antibiotic (thankfully!) but she'd put her on amoxicillin instead in hopes that this antibiotic would clear the ear infection when the last has failed 4 times in a row. Said rash was from same virus that caused ear infection but that mostly what I was seeing was it flared eczema.
But now Charlotte seems to be getting a rash...NOOOOOOO!!
Being at home has made me really want to clean and the good news is that cleaning=steps. So I think I'm naturally staying more active.
On today's agenda is figuring out plans for weekend/menu, and hopefully getting groceries done.
Oh I almost forgot! I received the LOVELIEST stool/seat that David made with a beautiful letter that will be going into Charlotte's baby book. Both girls now have matching stools, cut from the same board! He is truly an artist and these gifts will be greatly cherished. Thank you, David!
