Settled in to the RV resort for our FROG rally. Lots of activities planned ! Today is a winery and an Amish farm. We did not tow a car as we are just four hours away for three days with lots of bus tours and on site activity. We left the dogs with a sitter wait is so hot and we will be away from the RV so much.90's and humid here. Love and treasure you all !!

I'm feeling somber today and trying to just appreciate the beauty around me and the people I love.
SIL had what sounds like a disturbing appointment with one of the doctors yesterday (not her oncologist, but possibly the cardiologist). She went alone not expecting much other than quick meetings. She said she would talk to me about it today in person.
Last night DH was fairly aware so I discussed that he would eventually need to go into Memory Care when it became too difficult. He started crying and was very sad until bedtime. I'm not even sure he remembered why he was sad ultimately but knew he felt that way.
On a lighter note, DSD arrives for the weekend this afternoon. Her plane was supposed to leave Jacksonville at 6 am and I was going to pick her up just after noon at the bus. Now her plane is delayed due to mechanical problems until 10. That is going to be tough because we have a 5:30 dinner reservation at a lovely place on the water to celebrate her birthday. I hope we make it.
Have a full Friday!

Happy My-Dad's Birthday!
First of all, oh Fergus! First biting flies then pancreatitis (if I am remembering correctly.) Ceci, I am so glad you got him in to the vet even tho it is not his favorite thing.
DianeO, your FROG rally sounds like it has a it all! Amish baked goods.....mmmmmmm. Liz, may the travel God look favorably on your commutes. Peps, it will be so interesting to see what your totally different body looks like with weight loss this time, compared to last time. I (still) love my LBL. I didn't have extra stomach tightening besides what came with the LBL. I don't regret that.
DianeS, can't wait to see the picture of your refreshed backyard. I spotted a tree frog on a Redwood trip. So cute. And related to nothing, there was a high speed train in Japan that suffered total mechanical failure when a slug fried on its electrical grid.
David, I can't get enough Adalyn or sawmill stories.
My neighbor is working "my" tiny vegetable garden this year. Typically, it is a victim of perennial neglect. Jim neglects nothing. I did spot a weed he missed, pulled it, and immediately marched it over to prove just how hard I worked.
My parents are coming back into town on Sun. It is my sister's turn to play host but they will spend a fair amount of time here, too. I am looking forward to their visit almost as much as Tink and Buster.
Below are pics from a past hike. Bandara Mtn. There first pic shows the rock trail along the ridge. The blooming plants are bear grass.
Do something fun today, even if I don't think it personally sounds like fun :)

Gorgeous pictures as always, Shel! You live in such a beautiful area for hiking. Fergus said he sends you slobbery kisses and dog breath. He's sleeping quite a bit and will get his first meal in 55 hours at 2. Fingers-crossed he feels like eating!
My fun today will be a boat ride in the 1942 Chris Craft...
You did it now. I can overload you on Adalyn stories. When she is in the mood she will give me love on FaceTime. She kisses the screen and pats the back of the phone. She is usually famished when she wakes in the morning. She doesn't say many words but she can say EAT. This morning she ate 2 eggs, a sausage pattie and some peanut butter crackers. She has never eaten baby food. She does use signs with her hands to let us know she wants more. She claps when she sees me and she runs to me when I am running the sawmill. It is amazing what I can do with a baby in my arms. I made some measuring cups out of walnut and she LOVES them. Unusual attachment. She plays with them in the bathtub. Scoops up water and pores the water out on the floor. She drinks 6-8 sippy cups a day. It is so funny when she takes a drink and gets enough she slams the cup on the floor. When she is done she is really done. She has speech therapy and occupational therapy 2 times a week. She melts my heart. I pitty the guy that falls in love with her. He will never mistreat her twice.
sawmill was running moments ago. Ash is such a pretty wood. Grain like oak. All white wood. Not too hard to work. I also cut up a birch log. It has been sitting a year so it is spalted. Beautiful to see the lines of pre-rot. I am thinking of making wall siding out of it. I need a kiln big enough to dry 3-4 thousand ft at a time to build the tiny house. I am planning on walnut flooring.
