Things are very rocky here. DC is cycling, and not on a bike. I'm letting that and the lack of sun and outdoor time drag me down. I used Sangria and ice cream to self soothe yesterday. I have learned better, and two days of sun and being active outside should help. Liz, I don't know how you do it 24/7.

Hey all! Two pretty days in a row! It's actually WARM today. Yay! I got my cubic yard of cedar mulch delivered today and spread it out on the freshly weeded paths in my veggie garden. A satisfying project - not hard and looks great at the end.

David, before I had this built, I looked at several that you could buy that looked exactly like yours and they are REALLY expensive, so well done you!!

Off to have lunch and enjoy the sun!

That is room for a lot of veggies! Beautiful. Enjoy the sun.

Lots of room, but I've realized packing things too close together makes it hard to manage. I'm into spread out gardening now!

Looks beautiful, I hope some of that Sun will be in Minnesota when we return. So far, we've been the state that summer forgot.

I hope so too! It was a long time coming here. The lake is packed with people who seemed to materialize out of nowhere! It was a ghost town up until today.

That looks great. Cedar mulch smells good too. You will really enjoy that. Walmart sells one very similar to ours. $1150 and it is soft wood so it will rot in 2 years. And you have to assemble it. I have seen one like ours on FB marketplace for $2500. I could make it for that.

Doesn't it smell good? It was delivered by an odd fellow who launched into a discussion of how science is trying to kill God. I tried to calm the situation by saying I think the two can coexist, but he wasn't having it. I just wanted my mulch!

You could totally sell those and make a bundle!

Good morning!

I am NOT going to start my Mt Rainier adventure today. I would have thought I would be more disappointed than I am. Instead, Not Going feels right. I am still short of breath and avoiding stairs so I guess much more would feel like torture. Instead of Rainier, I have lots of adulting to do next week and will feel nice to have the space/time to do it. After that, we go to Mexico for a week. Life is good.

Speaking of Mexico, DD, enjoy your time!

My parents went home on Tue. I am so glad they were here for a couple of weeks, in my house, rather than my sister's. I enjoyed the comfort of "home" that they represent, even when my mom is bugging me. I worry about my dad's failing memory and sad that I can't wave a wand and make it go away.

I don't like smores, but having ingredients in house exposed me to the joy of graham crackers. Can I portion control them? Probably not.

DianeO, I am sorry for DC's cycling. I am still hoping to meet up with you in BC. I may take a float plane rather than drive. I shall research.

I am in awe of this group's raised beds! DianeS, that back deck/yard is going to be so SPIFFY when you all are done. Love the stories about DH's tools/efforts. Peps, when is the RV trip? Also, loved the outback!

Love and hugs to all!

Shel

Don't like s'mores? Heresy! But probably for the best, as definitely not a health sustaining concoction. Enjoy your vacation, after graduation, visitors etc, it comes at just the right time.
