Devon, I truly get the need to dig, but with all of this rain I'm talking MUD...like chocolate lab mud ! They both LOVE being in the yard and there are lots of spots somewhat sheltered from direct rain but the digging in this weather makes goopy, mud mosh pits. Liz.. enjoy your remaining dry, warm time !! It will be interesting to see if DH realized you were gone. David, I so love hearing you talk about wood and giving it new life. The passion and serenity are palpable. Diane, can't wait to see pictures of your deck ! I can't tell you how perfect your suppers sound ! Peps, you're killing the workout scene ! Your summer plan sounds perfect ! Did you try to cut back on grooming a bit for the summer again this year ? Ann and Miss Bonnie, hope your travels are refreshing and meaningful. BB...you are really leaning into motherhood and a new set of priorities. When I had a newborn and a 19 month old I learned about "big deal...little deal", for sure ! Shel, I hope your house is back to normal after the big celebration ! I've teleported myself to your back yard several times ! DD..have fun south of the boarder ! Shirl, you've got to be getting excited about your return to summer in the States. Cecily, love your gardening updates. I'd love more pictures of life on the channel !

The raised bed is done. I have 4 tomato plants 2 cucumber and 2 sweet peppers. I am going to plant some seeds today.Watermelon, cantaloupe, sunflowers and 3 different kinds of squash. DW said I was enjoying this more than she expected. She is going to find some seeds if she is going to plant something.

Another year older. I don't feel any older. But I have felt about 80 since my early 20 s. I have been a grumpy old man for years. DW is always upbeat, Is pleasant before coffee and always has the best opinion of people. Opposites do attract.

Adalyn has fever again. Head cold moved to her chest. It has been a while since she has gone to the doctor. I hate that she is sick but thankful that the episodes are farther apart.

Got all the CEUs done. I renewed my nursing license this morning. I need to get the tags on the truck today. And renew my drivers license. Sales tax, YUCK.

More Later, David

Happy birthday David! It sounds like those raised beds will be providing some great bounty in a few months.

Not sure if this holds true in Arkansas, but in CA if a relative transfers a vehicle to you it can be considered a gift and no sales tax is required. Also, in CA our sales tax is pretty steep so often between private sellers, it is easy to fudge the paperwork if you both agree to a lesser price. I have never had opportunity to do it, but many of my friends have significantly lowered the price of a used vehicle when registering and getting new tags. Saves them a bundle. I guess it's cheating, but I also think that charging sales tax on the same item twice is double dipping! I guess it's all perspective. All that to say, check with your family that sold you the truck to see if the gifting option will work for them.

Here in AR anything over a certain amount, used to be $2500 was tax free. And amazingly that is the amount many vehicles sold for. Now when the seller transfers the title they write the sales price on the back instead of a bill of sale. DIL filled it out already. I think it is going to be about $1600 in sales tax.

Today is my last full day here and I'm feeling sad about leaving yet looking forward to getting home. I have to admit that I am missing Justice as much as everyone else. I hope he doesn't think I have deserted him!

DH has apparently been quite difficult with the full moon/new moon effects I have noticed previously even with anti-psychotics on board. I explained how much to use and when to give it, but it doesn't always work 100%, though it does usually take the edge off some. I get the impression that BIL is not handling this side of Alzheimer's well. I don't think he spent much time with his mother when she went through this phase. So even though I had warned about it I don't think he truly understood how difficult DH can be. Some angry brother buttons may be getting pushed? Hopefully all calmed down last night.

We had ****tails on the beach from 5-8 last night with a big group as most of us are leaving in the next few days. What a great bunch of people from all over the US! I'm going to do my usual hanging out on the beach for most of the day and need to decide if I just want to eat leftovers on my last night or go out. Tough decisions of the day.

I posted these on FB. I saw someone else writing on the beach to get a good picture so thought I'd do it as well. Note that the lizard is wearing my favorite color - LOL.

I can't help thinking it's good for others in your family to fully experience the range of your DH's illness so they can better understand what you're going through.

So glad you had a great vacation! Wi**** was longer for you!
