I am two pounds over my range. My weight continues to jump and drop by 3-4 pounds in a day. I'm sure a lot of it is water, but I'm rethinking strawberries too. I love them but I have noticed increased sugar cravings, particularly cravings for ice cream, since I have been eating them daily. Ann has mentioned that part of a small McDonald's sundae often works, but ice cream is a real slippery slope for me. DC is working through his alcohol detox. He has tapered to nothing a bit more quickly than recommended and is experiencing withdrawl and difficulty feeling his feels. He now sees that the intended benefits of his psych meds and medical marijuana were negatively impacted by the drinking, and finding balance is a challenge. I had to order more tile for the RV, as I've expanded my original plan. I have to get outside sometime today to figure out a solution to Atlas digging under the raised beds, then wallowing in mud holes. He had a favorite spot under the stairs to the little playhouse that I filled, placed rocks over, then added straw. I understand that he loves shady hidey holes and really LOVES mud. The space under the stairs isn't big enough spread out his entire body, so perhaps that was the lesser of all evils. Of course, if it ever stops raining......

My DW can find a bargain in a mud puddle. In 2 different yard sales she found commode seat bidets. For like $5. We have had one for years because we bought one for post op back surgery for DW. Clean without twisting. Less toilet paper. We tried to put one in the Airstream but could not modify to fit. BUT I did put it in the shop in the woods. So I have a bidet in the shop and DW does not in the Airstream. So for the past 2 years I have had a warm place to... sit. My mom came to the shop in the woods and was totally impressed with a warm potty seat. She is almost blind and could not see the controls. I told her it can do SO much more than be a warm place to sit. The one we bought for full price suddenly quit working. COLD potty seat. THIS WILL NOT DO. Funny how quickly this luxury became necessary. I installed one of DWs bargains. One worked. I encourage you to purchase one of these. You will not regret it. You will feel guilty that people in Haiti are starving in poverty and your back side is feeling wonderful. But you will not regret buying it. Brondell and SimpleBidet are both good brands. And comfortableto sit on. You do have to have electrical outlet near your commode.
On the saw therapy front. There is something in it that makes me compulsive. I just can not quit. I want to see the grain. Smell the wood. Savor the moment of making boards from lumber. Walk in the sawdust. My little tractor will barely lift the next log onto the mill. For that moment I am not fat wanting to be thin. I am not old wanting to be young. I am not in pain... much. But then I soak in the hot tub an realize I am old, fat and in pain. It was a good day because for a few hours I was lost in doing. I hope you can find something to get lost in too. I pay for my compulsion. Too many Advil lately.
Adalyn is 18 months old. Just now sleeping through the night. She is affectionate with animals. Her people not so much. Unless she has fever. She never ate baby food. She loves fruits and veggies except tomatoes. She wakes hungry. She eats eggs and sausage for breakfast. Still only says words sparingly. She drinks more water than any kid I have been around. 2 - 8 oz sippy cups a night. And at least 5 during the day. We will watch for other symptoms of blood sugar issues. She plays well with other kids or by herself. When she gets mad, she gets off the scale mad, think tantrums. We gently lay her on the floor and ignore it. But oh how we laugh at her the rest of the time. She is like the grass. Blink and she is taller.
More later, David

I was just looking at Farmers Almanac and they are predicting a rainy/showery summer for much of the country. They say New England will feel like the lower east coast states with the humidity and showers. Hmmm...
But it will be sunny here for my last 2.5 days. I slept longer last night without having company to chat with so perhaps I will be able to catch up on sleep too. I have been averaging 6.5-7 hours while my usual at home is 8-9. Here is the sand piece our friend made in honor of his daughter's marriage last fall (we went to the wedding in the Denver area).
Have a wowed Wednesday!

Yesterday was cloudy, but at least it was dry. So much for a 20% chance of showers today... it's drizzling again and in the 50s! Totally nuts. My tomatoes are never going grow at this rate. Liz, your Farmer's Almanac chart was interesting. Water and rain is so precious, I hate to curse it. I read that the 6th largest city in India, Chennai, with over 10 million people just ran out of drinking water in their 4 primary reservoirs. The stuff of nightmares.
Weeding continues. While I was estimating how much I had left by area, I wasn't factoring in that I left the worst for last (I hate that I usually do that). So much grass to pull in this section! I filled two 11 gallon trugs and then quit for the day. One more bad section and one easy section to go, then some weed whacking outside the fence.
I keep forgetting to weigh. I think repeatedly forgetting is another way to say "avoidance". Why do I do that when it would be so easy to fix now instead of waiting until I gain so much it's really hard? Hang on... So I just weighed. It's after one cup of coffee, but still. Ouch. Work to do on that front. A protein shake for breakfast it is (I'm never hungry in the morning, why waste the calories there). And a lighter lunch as we're going out for dinner.
Greetings Splendid people.
Down a half today. Hope every body has a warm bottom. Dave the bidet thing sounds excellent. We have a super cold potty at the gallery because the heat doesn't go in there. There is a space heater but its old and a fire hazard. Maybe we should get heated seat. I have them in my car but no need but I do love the heated steering wheel.
Anyway Dave, glad you are finding peace sawing boards. And you have something to show for it when done.
Tool time is still going on. we will finally have a second backyard gate instead of a sheet of siding.
DH is off to costco for shrimp and such.
Food find: I got the Target Brand (Market Basket) of precooked bacon. I cooked it in the microwave in paper towels about twice as long as they said to. It came out super crisp - almost shattery. Excellent. I hate soft bacon. More tonight.
Housekeeper comes today so more picking up. Then payroll and errands. At least there is stuff for dinner so no store runs.
Those of you with rain - hope you get relief. Its sunny and nice here.
Got a call from SIL last night. My brother has been falling and was briefly hospitalized. He is now going back to the rehab center which he dislikes. She thinks he needs to go to a different center that specializes in brain trauma. That may be right. On top of that she is having her hip replaced Monday. She will have in home care. I may go back to see my brother as I fear what's to come. But SIL drives me nuts so I have to find a balance.
I have actually had too much coffee today. Time to eat something real. Diane S
