Those delicious Sangrias (along with pulled pork and some ff) contributed to a temporary blip up. I'll dial it back today and push the water and hopefully see a return to normal tomorrow. Rained heavily all night, and is supposed to do so most of the day today. Wet dogs rule !! I hope all those with Father's Day plans have an indoor alternative. Let's find our own sun today !!

My mom s birthday went well. I did eat cake. It was not very good. But I ate it anyway. DW is really great about finding bargains on FB marketplace. We surprized my mom with a flex steel lift chair. She went down to lunch and we slipped it in her apartment really fast. She cried because she did not think she was getting gifts this year because she is moving to a tiny house and we are going to build it out on the inside for her. She is 88 and afraid she is not going to leave any money to her kids. I have always told her the goal is to run out of money on the day you die.
The 3 hour round trip ride yesterday was great in the new to us truck. And I could hear my DW talk.
Rain is supposed to set in for the next 4 days. This has been a really wet spring. You can watch the grass grow.
Seek peace, do good.
More later, David

We told our parents the same thing - the goal was for them to have enough funds to live comfortably and not to leave any.

I was just checking the weather at home. Like Dave's location and many others it has been very wet in the Northeast. It looks like rain showers are predicted all week on Cape Cod.
Sobering thoughts around SIL's cancer battle and many others. I so wish we could rollback time and eliminate whatever happened to trigger its growth in the first place. Maybe one day there will be a vaccine - maybe in time for our grandchildren.
Have a sunny Sunday and Happy Fathers Day to those who are Fathers, those whose husbands are/were Fathers, and those who have/had Fathers.

Happy Father's Day!
I am grateful to have my dad in my house on Father's Day. My card to him starts with "To the Fixer" and that is the truth. This morning, the two of us ran errands at the local shopping center. He was in charge of providing good company and picking out a good watermelon. Between the two of us, we eventually found the car in the parking lot.
I am also grateful for the today's sun. Cecily and DD, I hope summer begins for you and the bugs aren't too bad.
Later today, my sister's family will come over for pizza and root beer floats.
I have found some comfort in carbs lately, this morning it is oatmeal. There are worse things than oatmeal -- pizza and root beer floats come to mind. Appetite still suppressed most of the time so calories are apparently aok. I am already planning just a bit of pizza so I can get maximum calories from RBF.
Local Rainier cherries are in the stores AND on sale. This a special treat for my mom, who loves them. She isn't snooty, like me, about where cherries are grown. She was just telling about the history of cherry sale prices and then started in on the price of cabbage. My mom is a champion sale shopper and it has served her well.
My dad is now cleaning my windows. Truly the fixer.
Embrace the day,
Shel
