Deep breath!

If you try Rainier again I MIGHT train with you.

Hell, surely some other codgers have made it up there before, eh?

Good Morning All - another gorgeous sunrise here :) Early night last night which was bliss. Weight 176.44 - so going down. Expect to drop some more over the next few days with all the activity planned.

We went and bought Steel Mesh Tree Guards after work yesterday. Should mean we can safely plant some Gum trees in the front paddock and they shall remain cow proof. Have 4 to test the theory, If they work, more will be purchased.

Today will be planting all day and maybe some mowing. We are about to have some Mushrooms and poached eggs to fill our bellies before we get into it. No frost this morning so Im thankful. Always harder to work when your hands are frozen - Hello Winter

Ann - Enjoy your visitors - sounds like you will have a wonderful time together

Diane - No AC in summer - oh dear - hope they can fix it next week

Liz - Have the best time in Aruba :) Relax and enjoy the break

DD - Summer Break wayhoooo - enjoy every moment

Annie G - Welcome - good to see you here

Shel - Hope the party is everything you all wish for - happy memories

Diane S - Lots of activity at your place :) Will be so great to have it all done

Peps - Are you on your last day before breakup? Crossing fingers for you

Cec - Any more gardening today? Loved the pic of Ferg - clever pup choosing a good viewing point

Hello to any I have missed

I best get this butt moving - Looking forward to sorting out the treeline today - winter weeds and all

I love all this land and the really long lane! I have memories of running down a long lane because the bus was coming and and being late for the bus was the worst.

You will enjoy those trees for years. The guards look quite capable of keeping them protected.

I love having land around us - looking over green paddocks - its my peace n solitude - dont want to go back to the city

This section is one of the 2 in the front of our property and is around 220 yards long by around 4 yards wide. The Tree line is for a wind break and also shade for the cattle when they are in that paddock feeding.

We also planted 4 gums in the middle of the paddock protected by steel mesh guards - hoping it works and the cows dont make them dinner

Your planting looks way harder than my planting!

Nahh Cec - just on a bigger scale - you are digging and turning over and stuff - I get DH to do all the digging - I was shovelling the weeds and bringing soil over to help

Enough exercise for me after 8 hours

Hey all! I forgot to weigh, but did so after a cup of coffee. But then I stopped for ice cream today when I drove past a little ice cream shop in a minuscule village with a sign out front that said "Open for the season and hoping for business". How could I not stop?? And, ice cream. Plus it was a gorgeous warm day and kind of called for it. So I had a scoop of Michigan Pothole ice cream (chocolate with fudge, crushed Oreo and chocolate chunks), my favorite I can only get here. I regret nothing!

Today's gardening included planting some mint (in a pot, I learned my lesson years ago not to put it in a bed) and planting a terrarium with moss from the yard and one tiny plant I bought. So cute.

I also started replacing kitchen cabinet knobs and realized I bought the wrong size of half of them. So back those need to go with a trip to Home Depot to buy the right kind tomorrow.

Here are some pics from today...

It's lilac season here:
