And bam! The scale dropped again--1.4 pounds. That puts me only 0.6 pounds above my pre-NOLA weight. And yes, I know the scales will keep bouncing around for a while, but it feels good to be this close to my goal. More telling is that this morning my "skinniest pants" fit MUCH better (those pants are my other "scales"). I'm betting the last two months of tough yoga classes are finally catching up with my ass. Well, that was fun, and now back to real life.
It's still raining here and will probably keep raining tomorrow. If so, tomorrow's canoeing trip will be cancelled. But weather be damned ... the Saturday Night Girls Only Sleepover will go on as scheduled. Apparently, many hair-coloring and makeup sessions are in the works. And rounds of Crimes Against Humanity and Scrabble. I'm laying in lots of wines I DON'T drink--the sweet kind in colored bottles with bubbles. After trying to figure out what kind of food would work for everyone at this soiree I realized that I can make multiple takeout runs for dinner and make sure Sunday morning breakfast is pretty. That is doable. :)
Lots of errands and more housecleaning today. And that's the news here.
Shel, I'm thinking about y'all's big celebration this weekend. I hope it is the most joyful 2019 high school graduation event in the Pacific Northwest!
And like DD said, let's all get this summer started!
Today's theme: Celebrate! You already know what it is ... :)

Yes, DD ! Let summer begin ! Shel, enjoy the festivities with your graduate !! Paula, man.... You'd better have a cleaning lady, or two, for that new mansion of yours !!! Dave, thanks for the milky spore recommendation. I looked into it, and it is supposed to be safe for dogs. Cici... what a perfect spot for a furry golden...guarding the houses and the channel at the same time, in the shade !!!! Liz, relax and enjoy every moment !!
With temperatures finally in the upper 70's, I've discovered the AC in my Subaru Forester isn't working. The first service appointment I could get is next week. Looks like a peaceful weekend around here.

School is indeed out for summer. Hot today, blissfully hot. Unseasonably cool next week, but I don't even mind, because there are so many, many chores to be done, and I need to get at them while dear son is home and I can draft him into operation restore the yard. His job search appears to be heating up, so hopefully he won't be available for long :)

Reading the posts, I feel a bit sloth-like. I don't do the garden. While I appreciate them, and used to do a large vegetable garden (then can and freeze), vertigo is not as outdoor friendly as you might imagine! No special plans for today, other than fighting yet another cold.
Finding that I cannot eat some things I was eating before, hard boiled eggs as an example. So Canadian bacon is back on the list, and plain deli turkey.
This weekend involves dog sitting Beasley, our neighbors Yorkie. Nothing like 3 small dogs all wanting to be on your lap and walk you to the bathroom! It's raining out and they none of them want off the porch.
Life is good! Liking my hair cut, loving my husband, enjoying my adult children, and seeing my friends. No complaints!
Today?s theme: Celebrate! Being vulnerable and open to people!

Aruba tomorrow!!!! I'm packed, all laundry is done, and the house is clean. Hopefully no disasters occur while I'm gone.
I am jealous of Ann's success in losing weight. My Aruba food list for my place is very Bariatric friendly (other than wine but I won't have much) but of course I'll go out to eat every night. Generally I don't gain there but I probably won't lose weight. I timed my surgery to be 8 weeks out when I went 3 years ago so I would be in a good point in the process. I had forgotten that...
Shel, I hope everything goes well with the festivities around DD's graduation. Enjoy! They grow up so fast (DSD turned 46 today).
Have a fantastic Friday!

Liz, I may not be eating very much more than you are on one of your low days, since I track every single freakin' calorie that goes in my mouth, including all the veggies, all fruits, even my evening Caltrate (15 cals), my Omega 3 fish oil capsule (10 calories) and any Tums that pass my lips (5 cals each). I also still measure / weigh everything.
BTW, the only person who didn't give me any s**t about all this obsession was DH. :)
It sounds like Aruba is a good place for you to be right now for many, many reasons. Have a wonderful time down there.

Greetings Summer Lovers
157 today. Not loving that. Had one slice of a regular pizza last night. Salt salt salt. Also cheese for lunch. Cheese is my downfall anymore; never thought it would replace chocolate.
Hey Ann, wish I could come to your party. Yep, get that cheap sweet pink wine so you won't drink it. White Zin is like Kool Aide. And I vote yes on the store take out snacks. Costco frozen cooked chicken with some sauce would work. And congrats on your weight loss. You know the secrets and make them work.
Yay Liz its almost Aruba day. Enjoy.
Annie welcome and good on you for jumping right in. The water is great here. Tell us more about yourself.
Cecily, no doubt Fergie is a great guard dog as are ours. They keep all the rhinos and elephants out of the yard. But man they were going to town the other day on some kind of rodent hole.
Jerry the carpenter is pouring a little concrete pad for the new steps. So dogs are banished from the back yard. Purposeful dog walking in order.
Store run today. I ran out of half and half today and was forced to drink coffee cafe au last style with hot skim milk. Tastes better in France.
Banking and studio time today. All this yard talk is making me want to do garden again. And Jerry found an old pair of pruners I left out in the yard. Still in good shape. so when the deck is done I will maybe get into container gardening again.
Shel, I saw that people had to be rescued off Mt. Ranier!!!!! I assume you are skipping that.
Hey Peps, happy last day of school! Hope the celebration of life goes well.
Big news here is that United is now having direct flights from our dinky airport to Denver! So wish we had this when I had to go back to Omaha so often. Otherwise the only flights here were to San Fran to connect and that is always an iffy connection. So if anyone wants to fly out and visit the redwoods, United is the only way.
Take care all. Diane S
Hurray about the Denver flight!
Yes, I am skipping Rainier although all docs but one at the hospital said that by that time I would likely have my breath back. I'm was thinking "on a blood thinner???? That would amp up my anxiety to untenable levels. The one doc who was anti-Rainier was the anesthesiologist who brought it up post procedure. She said the others were crazy and probably just didn't realize the potential perils both in terms of injury and rescue time.
Which brings me to the experienced mountaineers that had to be rescued. They were on a much more technical/difficult route than the mere mortals use. Falling rocks killed at least one in another group in the same time frame. Their 13,000 ft campsite (tent and climbing ropes) blew away in high winds. The rescue took days because of weather, even the airforce tried and had to turn back. Pretty amazing stuff.
