Good Morning All - No weight again - sheer laziness on my part. Will get it out of the case today and weigh tommorrow.
Another busy day but productive. Got a lot of the invoicing done at work - just the consulting to review and approve. DH shopped for his SIL family on the way home from meetings so I made them another meal after I finished working. Things I had in the freezer/fridge - So it was a sausage, caramelised onion, gravy and cheese pie. We went over to deliver everything around 6.30pm and I had a to giggle. My other BIL and his wife had dropped off dinner - salmon patties. My BIL does not like fish - so I think my meal which was supposed to be for tonight - became his plan B. Helped my niece cut up apples to stew for her mum as she had asked for that. SIL brightened when DH went and sat with her. It was lovely to see. We will go back tonight. I am taking a night off cooking for them though.
Today should be quieter. Just have to pop over and let other SIL feathered babies out and do a quick water. Then work. DH is also working from home today so we will likely make a start on our own list of chores once we both finish. Monday is a holiday here so we have 3 days to get a decent amount done. My preference is replacing the shrubs we lost over summer along one fenceline. We have extras that have grown huge in pots at the back of the shed. The gum trees are growing well but need to be staked. Winter is a good time for planting. I will also join the mowing ranks but in a lazy A## way - sitting on a tractor with the slasher on the back. To hand mow would take me weeks...
Ann - Sorry you woke so early UGG Good luck with the appointment and crossing fingers that you get free glasses
Diane - You are a busy bee in the garden. No help here re the weeds etc, we have big spray unit on the back of my quad bike. Another job I need to do is spray the driveway.
Liz- Counting down till Aruba. Not long now :) Im so pleased you are having this time with your SIL's. You so deserve it
David - Hope things work out well with your Mum. Re the rooster we have had one that on our previous farm. Huge spurs and used to try and attack as soon as your back was turned. I went into the pen with a plastic rake and many times he was pushed away from attacking. He got me once - that sealed his fate. I read if you hold them down by the neck then carry them around it can work but DH tried the holding down thing and the rooster went mental. So needless to say he ended up in the pot. Those spurs are nasty. Take care of the wounds in case of infection
Diane S - Sounds like your place is busy. Will be wonderful when its done :)
Cec - Sorry about the baby deer:( Could be a fox - they are vermin. One of the few animals I detest after seeing the senseless killing that always comes with them. Cant wait to see more pics of your progress. Its looking great
Shel - Waves :)
BB - Hope you are getting enough sleep :)
DD and Peps - only a few more days and you will both likely heave a sigh of relief as the summer break starts
I best go start my day - have a wonderful evening all

Forgot to weigh this morning. Today I planted seeds - lettuce, radishes, cucumber, carrots, green beans, and spring onions, and planted another smaller bed with day lilies, coneflower, and blue fescue grasses. Other chores included more deer barriers, cleaned my house, and grocery shopped. Tomorrow the new kitchen cabinet hardware I ordered comes, so that's a project. Weeding is a never ending project too.
Today was unbelievably beautiful. It's a lovely place. Ferg had a really nice day too. Lots of wandering around and laying outside.
My grades are posted, my reflections and data entered in my evaluation portfolio, my special ed paperwork filed in the cummulative files, my bookcases dusted, my students bid goodbye with requests they stop by and update me... tomorrow staff breakfast, faculty meeting, special ed department meeting, and then so long for now... husband bought a kayak, so we're off to a nearby beach tomorrow when we get home to try it out. Let's get this summer started!!
