Good Morning All - No weight again - woke to another frost. White covering the ground.

Yesterday ended up being a hectic one. Our niece was taken to hospital by ambulance after vomitting non stop - she has a bladder infection so my SIL (the one who didnt fall) raced down to the city to be with her and help care for her children. Our other niece who was flying in from Western Australia to help her mum (the one that fell) needed picking up so I took a few hours off to go collect her off the train and drop her home.Along with Soup and snacks I rustled out of our freezer. Made them a massive Shepherds Pie for dinner last night and dropped it off before heading to other farm to tend other SIL animals just on dark. Quick dinner then I had to go and collect DH from the train station around 10pm last night. My throat isnt as sore and Im hoping I am managing to ward off it turning into a full blown cold. With Winters arrival every second person is sick ..... And frankly I dont have time to be sick at the moment !

Today I am hoping for a quieter day as I continue to play catch up on my work. DH has meetings all day then will pick up some groceries on the way home before we visit his Sister. I will make them another meal to pop into the fridge for tommorrow. BIL and SIL are making dinner for them tonight I believe - though I made enough to feed an Army yesterday so suspect there will be leftovers.

Diane - Love Elton John - will put seeing Rocketman on my list :)

Liz - Glad you apt went well. Your BIL sounds challenging to say the least ! Well done on standing up for yourself though Im sad it was necessary. Especially given how much you have to contend with already

Ann - Hope the preparations for house guests goes well and how exciting to be booking more trips. Antarctica is on my bucket list - cant wait to hear your updates

David - Sounds like you have been very industrious :)

Diane S - Hope you have a great day with all you have planned

Peps and DD - nearly there - counting down the days and hours till summer break - bet you cant wait

Shel - How is the Party Prep going? Did you get the cupcake stands etc - Looking forward to pictures

Cec - Are you giving you weary arms a break from gardening today? Its looking great

Hello to any who follow

Well I best stop procrastinating and go start the monthly invoicing - it aint going to do itself

Take care all

Shirley

You are a whirlwind of productivity!

Party prep is coming along. I was bit bummed to find that the store that I knew had cupcake stands was out of stock. So, I ordered next day delivery (free, natch) so it will probably be delivered by a guy in a sedan tomorrow night.

Thankful to be part of a very close family - we all band together to help each other. Before I married DH, it was just my mum, 2 sons and I - DH is one of 4 and hes very close to his sisters. I was welcomed immediately into the family as were my mum and sons. His sisters are now mine too - which is nice as I lost my sister when she was 35.

My DH's family is closer than my own (just a brother now).

More planting today! I tackled 18 feet of window boxes including cleaning them out first. Then I fixed three lines in my veggie drip system than had been cut somehow. Tomorrow is seed planting, more flower planting in another empty bed, and putting up stakes and fishing line to deter the deer. Apparently they can't see the fishing line so when they touch it, it spooks them. So far so good. A sad note on the deer front; we found a tiny baby deer head in the yard. We can't figure out what could have killed it. We think either a bear or an eagle. We have foxes too, but I'm not sure they'd do that? We've never seen a coyote here. People talk about cougars and bobcats, but those sightings seem more mythical than a common occurrence. Hmmm.

It was freezing today (49), foggy, and drizzly. The next three days should be warm and gorgeous. Yay! Still doing well on food. Down 3 pounds so far.

Good for you on staying on ALL the tasks! I am so impressed with you sticking with the yard duties, in particular. I know the calendar forces the issues but at some point (like three days ago) I would be throwing in the trowel.

Throwing in the trowel. Ha! It I didn't have an audience of my dad and his wife, I think I would have dragged it out a bit. Peer pressure is a motivator!

Keeping busy is one of the keys to weight loss for me. Sitting around too much and stewing kicks up my urges for junk food eating...
