Got the yards mowed. Sawed up some cedar lumber for raised beds for DW. I started building it this morning. It is supposed to be 90 today. The completion of tasks are like a drug for me. Time stands still. Not as much grazing. Pain goes to the background. I guess it is the only time I don't feel fat. But feel it I did this morning. Started out with meds and a hot tub. Kept waiting for my meds to kick in. They never did because I forgot to take them. I was so surprised to see them still in my pack.

I got a new to me truck yesterday. It is more truck than I will ever need. F250 diesel with all the works. DS upgraded and we got his for what the dealer offered him in trade. The van we have been driving is from the pharmacy's delivery service. Our mower is also a hand-me-down from him. I can't afford for him to upgrade anything else.

Love to all. More later, David

You'e so right, David! Being busy with a task makes it easier to not graze or sure... Congrats on the new truck!

Completion of tasks are like a drug for me but I suspect that non-completion of tasks is a stronger drug :)

Stay cool.

Greetings Life Copers

157 today. Gonna have to do some coping with that. Dinner last night was the Quest high protein pizza. A half of it is 300 calories but I didn't eat half. It was so so. Tasted pretty good and cheesy but it stuck to the cookie sheet when baked and no instructions to grease the cookie sheet. If I get another one it will get sprayed before going into the oven.

One cup of coffee on board and another by my side. Sun is out which makes me feel like being productive. I need to make a display unit for some of my art. Gotta get help from DH but hate to pull him off his current task of removing yard waste.

Liz I agree you deserve an award for all you have had to deal with. Good for you for telling BIL off. I am sure he had no idea how annoying he was. Probably thought he was just taking charge. Glad he apologized. Aruba here you come!

Thanks for the Elton review DianeO. I remember almost 50 years ago when my college boyfriend gave me that first Elton album. I think I just gave it away with other vinyl that I never use.

Yep Ann, life must be really bad for midwestern farmers with rain. Non farmers don't understand how farmers have to plan ahead and order seed and such and can't just change crops because its a wet spring. I remember some city people who thought all the endless Nebraska corn fields were growing niblets for Green Giant!

Today is studio payroll, pre clean for housekeeper, being a dog valet and chef and chasing after contractors to fix the deck.

We watched the last of the Chernobyl series last night. Very well done but depressing. I had no idea of the heroics of some people who gave their lives to prevent that disaster from being even worse and who took great risks to share information.

Dave good for you for building the raised beds. Must be satisfying to do it from your very own boards.. Post a picture when you can..

Stay well all. Diane S

I'm not sure I could watch the Chernobyl series. I have a difficult time with depressing shows these days. Recently I watched what I expected to be a comedy (A Little Bit of Heaven). It turned out to be about a young woman (played by Kate Hudson) who has terminal cancer. It was a comedy but I had a tough time with it at the end.

I'm with you Liz. I can't stand to watch creepy or depressing shows these days - especially in the evening. We watched a Wanda Sykes comedy special the other night. My idea of a good evening show. Skip Chernobyl. Dian e

This whole dystopian trend with Handmaids Tale etc. is more than I can emotionally handle right now. Light and happy fits the bill for me these days.

Totally agree with light and happy. I am not sure when I became such a delicate flower although Pulp Fiction comes to mind. Before that, I couldn't imagine the negative of extreme violence outweighing the pleasure of watching John Travolta dance with Uma Thurman. They needed to flip flop the ratio of dance to violence.

I walked out of Pulp Fiction near the end. I could see the "artistic" side of it, but I just couldn't take any more!

I'll make it almost unanimous. Lately, I'm looking for happy-making entertainment on Netflix for pre-sleep relaxation.

My most effective soporific these nights is "Frazier." I'm astonished at how many episodes I have never seen. Of course, there were 14 seasons of 24 (?) episodes/season, so that's a lot of soporific left to watch. :)

BTW, there is another silly Netflix show I'm enjoying lately -- "Lucifer." The set-up is that The Devil has left Hell and now lives in Los Angeles running a sexy nightclub just off Hollywood Boulevard. He also doubles as a volunteer homicide detective with the LAPD. Like that's a thing, huh? Anyway, the Welsh actor Tom Ellis stars in it, and he is gorgeous! And no, I don't require my entertainment to be grounded in reality or believable. Just give me some devil's food beefcake, and I'm happy. :)
