Went to see Rocketman yesterday ! Outstanding performance by Taron Egerton as Elton John! I LOVED this film !! Don't go expecting a biography...many creative liberties were taken to make this experience representative of a very complex and gifted man. Man, his mother takes the Mother of all *****es award for sure. To be reminded of Elton's incredible genius and drive to surmount incredible odds AND to see him starting his Farewell Tour this month...what an incredible talent !! The locations nearest to us are Toronto and Pittsburgh...looking into tickets! Highly recommend !!!

Weight 133.8. Saw my PCP, Bariatric surgeon and PS for checks over the last week. All say it is appropriate to drop my weight into the low 120's but that I may have been a little too thin below that? They actually were okay with my current weight which is still 10 pounds below the top of normal BMI, but I'm not happy with my clothing fit. I liked being very thin, but it was hard to maintain. Low 120's was definitely more forgiving and my clothes still fit - I climbed above that because of binge eating sweets that have no business being in my house.
Sorry I have been a little MIA the last few days. I caught up on reading about parties, babies, mowing, life celebrations, trips, etc. yesterday. I wrote a post which I apparently never submitted and now it is gone!
So... BIL who had agreed to stay with DH was making me crazy. He started dictating orders about what state my house had to be in and what DS behavior should be while he is here. I blew up at him and told him it is my house and DS lives here and we are not going to adjust everything around BIL's needs; that it isn't BIL's home. I said that if he couldn't manage it for 10 days then we'd make other arrangements. Which we did start looking into (hiring someone to be here when DH is not in daycare and DS is working). BIL finally apologized and agreed to live with the existing house "rules". He said he wasn't giving "orders". Well it sure sounded like it which is why he gets a lot of the family members PO'd at him at various times.
Regardless, I am now good to go to Aruba again, leaving Saturday. I need to start doing some packing, but this year will be easy as I have a good list I use every year and this year I don't have to pack for DH!
And DH is now going to daycare 3 days instead of 2 because he likes the "family" there. I have a care plan meeting with them tomorrow. Other than increased personal care needs, DH has been relatively happy and relaxed lately. I don't know if it is being home or that his mind has stopped fighting the latest changes. There is no way to tell. We saw the neurologist on Monday. Our discussion was all around meds to manage behavior and when to use them (if needed). We also talked about Memory Care. He suggested this is a good time to make plans because eventually DH's mind won't be able to control his muscles and I won't be able to physically manage him (DH is 6'3" and 175).
So that's all the news here. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Geez, I am glad BIL apologized, but, honestly, all of that was so uncalled for a million reasons.
I was so glad to see your FB post about Aruba! Also, I am so glad that DH is enjoying his daycare family.
You made a recent comment about visiting a place that just smelled bad. When the funeral home people came to pick up MIL, one of them told me that she can can tell a lot about quality of care with "first whiff." I was relieved when her next comment was that MIL's Adult Family Home smelled great.

I have heard the whiff test from others too!
BIL never learned how to discuss/compromise with others and doesn't understand that his attitude is off-putting to say the least. He was an alcoholic from mid teens until about 11 years ago when he hit bottom (punched our then 20 year old daughter and ended up in jail). So he never picked up the skills needed to negotiate with other people. That's my theory anyway...

Jeez! That guy could use some therapy. Not to mention obedience training.

I agree - he had therapy in the past but I suspect the therapist had no idea. He can be incredibly charming to "outsiders" when he chooses to be. He saves the other side for us. BUT he is really good with DH (and was with his mother when she had dementia). Maybe because they couldn't understand what he said or talk back, LOL!

Liz, I'm so very glad you're still going to Aruba. No one deserves to get away on vacation like you do!
It's a beautiful morning here. But boy, did we have a gully washer last evening! And then we had a sky here like I've never seen before: At sunset, the entire atmosphere from horizon to horizon was a brilliant violet. In the southeast hung a monstrous rainbow, nearly obscured by the violet air. Wild!
I read yesterday that Midwestern corn and soybean farmers are really hurting this year. They've had four times the amount of rain that's normal, and they haven't even been able to plant yet because the fields are just muck! They'll need at least a week of dry weather to hope for a planting, and we haven't had a dry week in many months.
Enough Midwestern meteorology. My weight is back in reasonable territory. Onward and downward.
With house guests coming this weekend, it's time to get the guest rooms fluffed up. Today will be housework chores, some financial record-keeping, and making plane reservations for some planned trips, including Antarctica. :)
Today's theme: Housecleaning, baby! A little cleaning music. :)

Our housekeeper comes today - yeah! DS hired her over the winter and is keeping her. After today she will come on one of DH's Daycare day's to make it easier. We are clearing out for the afternoon today.

I am just trying to survive this! I just made an appointment with my Financial Advisor next month to discuss how to pay for memory care.
