I am POOPED. Today was weeding my raised vegetable beds to get them ready for planting. I only got through half. We had some landscapers clean it out, but in between that and my arrival a lot grew back. But I'm grateful I didn't need to tackle the whole thing, because let me tell you, there is a lot of alfalfa for some reason and those suckers are IMPOSSIBLE to pull! Tap roots 3 feet long (I looked it up, they can grow up to 49 ft). I am sore all over! Even my elbows. I quit when my left hand started cramping into a claw. Gardening is totally exercise... Tomorrow will be the rest of the beds. Day after, the window boxes.
Love hearing what you all are up to...
Late check in once again. Not much going on since yesterday, except that I am feeling a bit stressed this evening. Not sure why, but I am. Is most likely just "stuff". Report cards are done. End of Year testing is complete except for 5 kids, which I will finish tomorrow with ease. I have only one chore for the funeral on Friday and I can get that done from home very easily. Just have to figure out how to format it for the printers. So perhaps normal life and weight angst are taking more of a front seat. The button on my shorts was/is uncomfortable today. It is digging in to my waist. Blech!
I'm also stressed, come to think about it, of suddenly having more financial responsibility since my uncle's "estate" is now settled. There is one more account to be distributed and then it's done. I have always been most disinterested in matters financial. My method of saving has been this: deposit it the money into the IRA or the 403B or the Roth IRA and forget all about it, as if the money doesn't exist. It seems to grow and grow over the long haul and that makes me happy. I don't have much, but it will help during retirement. Now that my uncle's money has been doled out, my brother is trying to "teach" me about finance. All he's doing is dumping way too much information on me, all too fast and in a foreign language! It's not like this money has made me rich, but with the things my brother (who has a few million saved) is talking about, you'd think I had just friggin' won the lottery!
I'm going to try out Ocean Diane's SS scale today, just for fun.
- Within Range: 80 pounds over
- General Wellbeing: 6 on SS
- 10,000+ Steps: no clue, cuz I don't track!
- Fitness: nothing
- Self-Care: shrink session and focused relaxation
- Fun: Yesterday was a massage and that was fun!
- I learned/relearned: I am a good teacher. To hell with not conforming!
- Intentions: find the knowledge within myself to know I am worth what I want to do.
