Greetings Sunny People
156.5. And the sun is finally out here big time.
Sounds like everyone is having fun. Shel I can so relate to Folgers coffee and the midwest. It's ubiquitous. Being in the Pac NW I can't imagine having anything but fresh ground boutique coffee. But Folgers was always in our house growing up. I didn't really get into coffee until law school but now need regular transfusions. Enjoy the visit and party. Cupcakes all around.
DianeO glad you are getting SS out and about without needing a paddle! Enjoy. I like your fun category. Keep it full.
BB so great that you have a second chill baby to go with your perfect toddler. Lucky you to have such a great family.
Cecily when is blueberry season in Michigan? Our backyard bushes died out but I so have the urge to go get more.
Busy busy Dave - sounds like you have lots of worthy projects to do. Making good use of the sawmill. Adalyn needs a playhouse.
Shel I have to admit I used to have a yard art addiction. My favorite was a cement armadillo. Left all that behind when we moved cross country. Not worth paying movers to move cement stuff that my dog used to pee on. Sold it to an unsuspecting person for $5.
We had some good halibut last night and more tonight. Shared an ear of corn.
Kiln opens today so we shall see. Need to go for a routine blood draw and maybe also to Target. A big deal for this small town inhabitant.
DH insisted on watching a Chinese made sci fi movie yesterday. It was pretty much a gallery of special effects with minimal plot and poorly dubbed. I must find some other tv so I can redirect him! Diane S
Good Morning All - Back into Routine but forgot to weigh this morning - oops
Slowly catching up on sleep (As you can see by pics - lucky to get 3 hrs sleep a night - too old for this? he he he) and getting back into a routine. Had a ton of work waiting for me when I started back yesterday. Will take a few days to clear it back down.
Our trip was fabulous. Everything I had hoped for and more. My best friend had a wonderful time and I know will cherish the memories forever. We spent 4 days in Johor Malaysia with our friends and their children. They live in a gated community with great pool. The kids are 3 and 15 months so mornings where spent in the pool and hanging out. A few trips to the mall. Everything is so cheap there. So blessed to have been able to spend time with them all. Treasured memories
From there we went to Singapore for the remaining 3 days of our holiday. We had little time and big dreams and we did fulfill them. Bucket list item of having a Singapore Sling at Raffles Hotel (Long Bar), a 3 hour cultural cooking class in Chinatown, Silver making ring workshop, a visit to the only operational Dragon Kiln in Singapore (Diane - let me know if you want to see photos - they only fire twice a year)- My best friend is an amazing potter. We where lucky to meet the owner and be shown her private collection and she shared a lot of their families history. It was amazing. We did a tour that started in Chinatown with dinner, then a little shopping, then over to Little India for a Trishaw ride and finished with a Bumboat ride all around the marina at night. It was just lovely. Our final day, we lugged overflowing cases to the airport to put them into storage then headed out to Gardens by the Bay and Marina Sands. Totally amazing. Finished with a visit to Jewel at the airport before early check-in and relaxing at the club lounge. Overnight flight home of which neither of us slept so a nap when we got home was in order. DH had arranged for the whole family to come for dinner so it was wonderful to see them. He worked/cooked all day to prepare a feast. Its nice to be home even if it means leaving very hot and 97% humidity - to return to Winter
Picture spam now :) If they load!
Oh, Shirl ... what glorious, glorious pictures! Geez ... the architecture, the fountains, wow! And what treasured memories you will have forever. Such an adventure. I'm so tickled that you got to do this ... and that you gave your friend such a beautiful experience. Kudos!
