The night before my climb I really thumped the inside of my knee right on a clustering of very large varicose veins.

I developed phlebitis (found by the emergency room) in that giant tortured vein. Even with phlebitis, superficial veins don't often trigger a pulmonary embolism so it is hard to say there is a definite connection between the two events except for coincidence.

My oncologist, who has a bit of shaman her mannerism, said "I am not convinced at all that this (rubbing the length of my leg thru the covers) has anything to do with THAT (waving a circle around my chest.) Her point is that cancer makes you more likely to clot. I didn't need a precipitating event if there is active cancer.

To her, the PE is just yet another sign that the lung is going to need the care of an oncologist.

Thanks for satisfying my curiosity. Forgive me if I am snoopy but just wondering what connection there might be. Do take it easy. D

Glad you found it interesting cuz I worried it would sound self absorbed. Which I am, but I hate to be so obvious.

Nothing about what you share here would be considered self-absorbed! I like learning new stuff.

Weight: Don't know, woke up in the Big City this morning and couldn't weigh.

Macros: Don't know - didn't track anything. Worst case is probably 3,000 calories. Why so many? Party last night with fun folks who cook and grill and eat and drink.

Sleep: 3 hours max. Why so few? Late night, red wine, chocolate chip cookies, acid reflux, and sleeping in a borrowed bed.

Veggie/Fruit Servings: Don't know. Didn't care.

Water glasses: Maybe 1. But I did have a LOT of other liquids. ;)

Exercise: Close to 10,000 steps. Some of it was dancing.

The rooftop barbeque and rooftop movie party last night in the Big City was great! I am such a party **** And I am so not ashamed. Apparently, it has become my mega-superpower. The party continued this morning with Sunday morning brunch at a country club.

But now I'm home and looking forward to sleeping 12 hours tonight!

Today's theme: We love Shel and cupcakes. This cupcake song is so weird, but what's weirder it that it even exists at all!

I showed DD a picture of the cupcake wedding/party dress and she said that would be perfect as a cut out for photo ops as a party activity. Unfortunately, no time to make THAT in 6 days!

But, as we watched the cupcake video, she said "is this what your group does everyday? I said this is what Support looks like :) It certainly made the both of us smile.

So much I need to do. My CEUs are due this month and I was thinking of not renewing my license this time. My son talked me out of that. Every time I sit down to read I either fall asleep or I race to doing things in my mind. Mowing needs to be done and we have more rain on the way. So building a cover for the sawmill ranks high. DS has properties that need mowing too. I also have projects at the house. We decided to rent it. So far so good.

Ann that is a weird little cupcake song.

More later, David

Hello All - Got back from overseas yesterday. Weighed this am - 178.64 - up from 177.76 so not complaining. Given what I ate and drank I deserved a much bigger gain! Must have been all the walking we did. Packed a lot into last 3 days in Singapore but I will update on that tommorrow. Work emails piled up by the 100's ...... uggg

Have read back over past few days posts and Im just shocked at your news Shel. I read your post several times over trying to absorb it. I can only imagine things seem surreal at present. I send you all my strength and wanted to let you know that I am in awe of your resilience and the way you are handling this. Biggest Hug from over here in Australia. Wish I could give it to you in person but know you are in my thoughts x

A wave to everyone else - I promise to do a better post tommorrow

Take care all

Shirley
