I'm not usually up this early on the weekend, but we just returned from dropping our daughter off at the airport. Off to Boston. At the latest, we will see her again in August when the four of us go to Ireland together. I might sneak in a quick visit to Boston before then. I think I'll sneak in a quick visit to my bed right now. We got home at midnight, bed at 1 am, and up to go to the airport at 5 am. I need a nap!

It's a beautiful day here this morning. We won't get out of the 50s and it8s pretty breezy, but there isn't a cloud in the sky. Today I start gardening. I need to clean out and plant 18 feet of window boxes, a 10x5 bed where all the plants have perished, and 8 raised boxes for veggies. Not all today of course! Lots of weeding and composting to take care of first. And shopping! (the best part of gardening after the final results. The middle work bits I could take or leave)

We have Sunday Breakfast here in Michigan which is always bacon plus either pancakes, waffles or eggs, which my dad cooks. Today was waffles. Not exactly waist slimming fare, but it was delish and I didn't overdo. This morning I was down 2.4 pounds of water weight from Friday. It's a start!

In my first of the summer dress and sandals--sunny skies and perfect temps- 80 tops today.

DH does the garden stuff..his hobby, and I agree, Cecily, that The in between stuff can be taken or left. His back has been bothering him some so I've been doing the picking goodies, which in early summer before the weeds and humidity set in, is a delightful occupation. Last night we had the first picking of snow peas with the quiche. Delicious!

Off to church. Enjoy this day. Thinking always of you, Shel.

I have a new summer dress waiting in my closet. I think I'll be wearing it soon! 80s here again the end of the week.

Supah Sunday to you!

My parents arrive in town on Thur and my daughter's main grad party is Saturday.

Yesterday, I ordered party platters. I need to run to the bakery (hardship job, right?) to order cupcakes. (Don't judge me for ordering cupcakes even tho I have all the the supplies to make my own.)

I'm not sure how to display the cupcakes. Do I buy something? Rent? I can figure it out but if you have an obvious idea, let me know.

I'm going to clean the living/dining room today from top to bottom. Maybe I'll work on the bulging pantry cabinets. Who keeps buying the weird spices? (Oh, that's me.). Who buys repetitive beef/chicken spices, over and over again (Oh, that is DH). Who throws old stuff out. (NO ONE!)

It is indeed a glorious day here, will get Buster out for a walk.

Cecily, I love Michigan!!!!!!

Dave, I love that little one who crows. Have you worked on hooting?

Bakery cupcakes are exactly the way to go. I'm a fan of cupcakes on tiered plates. Are going with any color theme? I think party stores or places like Michaels have cute cardboard ones in various colors, or when unsure Amazon. My grad parties are behind me. Our house is small, so my trick was to put all the desserts on the living room buffet to encourage people to move out of the kitchen and dining room. Sorting cupboards, definitely a DYI, scrubbing bathrooms, outsource whenever possible!

Hmmm, Michaels. I have 2 other things I need from there that I have been putting off. Thx!

I'll check into tiered plates. Worried that anything I DYI will crash in spectacular fashion.

The cupcakes will be on our smaller round dining table between kitchen and family room. Rest of food on dining room which adjoins living room. Smore's (and fire!) down but the creek. If whether is nice, I think peeps will gravitate to deck (and in that case I might put main food on back deck) It doesn't look like rain at the moment.

There is a loose red and black theme but the cupcakes will (I think) be varying flavors/colors.

Is this what Peps had in mind, perhaps?

Shel, You could (literally) carry this off. DO IT! (If not now, when-If not YOU, who?)
