OK, I am flying to Seattle and breaking you out of there. We are going STRAIGHT to Starbucks!
No caffeine for 27 hours is inhumane!

Dearest Shel, How the heck can all this be? Am I dreaming or did you not just hike MSH? Can't fathom how all this could happen but I guess it just is. Hope you are not too uncomfortable in the hospital and that they do the scope and get information. I am glad for you that you are so physically strong - emotionally too I think. Draw strength from all of us - we send you all we have. So glad you are comfortable in sharing this information here. And don't forget to accept all help offered.
I am for sure going to do something fun. Thinking of you non stop. Diane S
I feel blessed that the procedure that is supposed to start at 4 is still on the books. They might be here at 3 to prep. The pulmonologist worked to see other paitients earlier to fit in the procedure. My oncologist stopped by on the way out of town to tell me that there is treatment that isn't the old chemo. I told her I has still hoping it just boogers and she said she would celebrate that but she thinks it is breast cancer.
path report won't be back til mon or tue A staging scan will have to be scheduled eventually the lung doc and onc are working closely together I feel well supported medically
this next 4weeks should be dd focused and i don't want this hijacking her celebration for now she knows about the PE but is already asking dh about what else they are looking for My oncologist might be able to frame this as just a chronic condition that can be managed I might ask onc if having her attend next weeks appt might somehow take the frank fear out of this. I just don't know thoughts on that? Maybe social work can help
anyhoo, continue life, I know I will as soon as I am released. I will have some time in next week to work on party planning since I called out for medical. Medical will keep me busy, too
Pretty tearful even with lorazepam but honestly coffee is what I need with 1/2 and 1/2

Thanks so much for updating us, Shel. They better switch your IV to straight caffe' latte as soon as you are out of surgery.
Try to get some rest tonight.
We love you! So, so much!

I hope the procedure went well. In many ways it seems like a repeat if what my SIL went through the last few weeks though her cancer is primary. She did have uterine cancer 15 years ago but they say it isn't related. And she had multiple clots in her legs so is now on Eliquis. So maybe immunotherapy is in the cards for you too? It seems like it works well on a lot of cancers depending on the genetic markers.
