This morning in the lower Midwest there's more rain with windy thunderstorms on the menu most of today.

Yesterday's self-care was good: more water, walking, yoga@home, and good sleep.

Today's agenda includes yoga class, a hair cut/color, grocery shopping, and paying bills.

And tomorrow if the mountain weather gods are kind, Shel will ascend Mount St. Helens. And no, I don't know why it's spelled that way with no apostrophe. It just is. Maybe there were two saints named Helen?

Today's theme comes from Messrs. Longfellow and Kelly: In each life a little rain must fall. Listen here.

Inquiring minds wanted to know...My raised beds are RAISED to keep dogs from helping me weed and pick vegetables, and to keep out the bunnies. If you ignore the dandelions, shed trim DC hasn't finished, and the Adirondack chair have to touch up, here is the painted pallet. BB and all in stormy weather, stay safe ! Shirl, welcome home ! Hiya!

Shirl, it is always a pleasure to see you back! Ditto to you, Paula! Liz and DD, I'm thinking about your SIL's and wishing peace to both. BB, loved your 3 stooges story. DianeS, how are the hands?

Peps, what fun it is for you to be planning trips! 4 Airedales as copilots! I love Crater Lake, have you been there before? If I remember correctly, the 1st people of the area passed down an oral accounting of the event that created the lake.

I'm getting oil changed, then a couple of final stops, then I'll hit the road to head towards MSH. (Ann, I'll get to the bottom of the "Helens" at the visitors center)

I'm sleeping in the car tonight at the trial head. I didn't bother to pull out a sleeping bag from the attic. I have 3 wool blankets, a fleece blanket and an alpaca cape. And two large pillows. And a thermal blanket. Plus, all my puffy coats in my pack.

For entertainment, I have downloaded many youtube videos of how to use ice ax and crampons, plus a whole lot of B Brown so I can be as woke as the rest of you. And, I have my kindle.

I don't know quite what the next 48 hours will bring. But, none of us really do, right?

Enjoy,

Shel
