VSG Maintenance Group
05/20/19 Monday
To our group that has seen so much, my sil was moved from her nursing home to the hospital again because she has no kidney output. This morning she changed her directive to DNR, comfort care only. We spent the night at the hospital, she was in and out, but mostly out. I suspect that she will pass on in the next few days.I know that too many of us have been on this journey with a beloved. May all of us abide in peace.
Hi all,
Liz, so sorry about the flight fiasco! Glad Paul made it home without incident.
Ann, boo on the movie. I wasn't planning on seeing it cuz I don't care much for Rebel Wilson and the trailers looked stupid, but I do love Anne Hathaway. Water intake is an issue for me, too. I'm holding steady at 3-4. Need to work on that myself.
Wonderful to see Paula posting. Shirl, glad you posted and are back in the groove. Remember, eating is not a static part of life. It ebbs and flows just as do our moods. The sooner we understand and accept that, the better off we are. It is only recently that I have come to accept this and stop beating myself up over my less than stellar eating moments (or months). Whether your eating is disordered or not, as a formerly obese person, the sooner you make peace with food and eating, the better!
BB - Oh, the movers! LOL! Thinking good thoughts for your upcoming delivery!
Diane S. - hope you are healing. I'm deciding whether or not I should come to Ferndale in July, too! The rig sure makes it tempting!
Diane O. - Love the honest to goodness raised beds! Mine are like Ann describes she sees in MO. What prompted you to design them so far off the ground, other than the obvious perk that you don't have to bend and kneel to tend the garden?
I am back on track. I have remained sugar free. Had a positive therapy session with the shrink. She was supportive of how I have been handling Ron's words about my eating. She suggested I tell him that in family therapy for members with disordered eating the first rule for the family is to not speak about the patient's eating behaviors, EVER! I think I will let him know that.
Well, as I am prone to do, I grabbed the bull by the horns, and talked Ron into and RV vacation in July. So, Oregon here we come! I'm going up to Portland for a 3 day dog show. And then spending 7 days getting home! I hope to end with an evening at the Oregon Shakespear Festival seeing As You Like It (MacBeth is sold out - booooooo! and All's Well that Ends Well is not playing the night we are there, which I would also prefer to As You Like It). Since the parks fill up early and booking now is already late, I feel very fortunate to have secured a single night at Crater Lake National Park. Here's the itinerary:
Thursday, July 18, leave home and drive straight through to Portland Expo Center.
Friday - Sunday July 19 - 21, Dog Show at Portland Expo Center
Sunday, July 21 - Leave dog show to travel east to Viento State Park for 2 nights. Columbia River Gorge region
Tuesday, July 23 - Travel to Lake Timothy south of Mt. Hood for one night. Mt. Hood National Forest
Wednesday, July 24 - Crater Lake, one night only OR....
Wednesday, July 24 - Crater Lake for a day trip only, then continue on to Ashland Cascade Area for a 2 night stay at Hyatt Lake.
Friday, July 26 - Hang with Amy and Frank (dog friends) in Ashland, Catch a play at the OSF????????
Tomorrow is Open House at school. I went back to school after my therapy session this afternoon and got some stuff done in the quiet. I do so much better after a break!
So now a little late dinner! Toodles....
