Tough call. I don't know Ferg well enough to offer any advice. Panting and trembling don't worry me. Those are normal stress reactions in dogs and help them deal with what the stress is doing physiologically. If you believe the risk outweighs the benefits, then think carefully about flying. To me it sounds like a 3.5 hour charter flight is the perfect way to go. If I had the resources to fly my dogs that way each year to PA, believe me, I'd do it! I would not worry about flying him that way, if you have your vet's blessing.
It's a tough decision, but if I were diagnosed with a terminal disease, I'd want my life to go on as normal, as much as possible. You can't ask Ferg, is it worth the risk to take you to Michigan? Yes something could happen, but sadly, something is going to happen, you just don't know when. If he loves his deck there, and you're happy there, and the vet is okay with it....
Okay, I now have time. Didn't think I would until later, but my grooming was a short one and a sad one. I'm sure it will be the last time I see Cali the Cairn Terrier. She is 14+ and has no quality of life left. She was unable to stand on the grooming table. She allowed me to clipper her down while lying on her side. I had her daddy hold her up while I gave her a sanitary trim to make potty time cleaner and less stressful for all concerned. I'm guessing she has only weeks left as her old body just gives out. Nothing wrong with her except she's old and her heart is giving out and she has advanced arthritis. I felt sort of honored that I was able to make her pretty for her exit and got to say goodbye.
The issue for me with yesterday's graduation party was that I broke my own rule and partook in sugar before my nighttime window. The Gates of Sugar Hell were thrown open and I had trouble with cravings the rest of the day. The scale did not yield a reflection on yesterday's poor eating, but I'm guessing it will tomorrow. The item that got me to break my rule was a Chocolate Caramel "Turtle" (chocolate, caramel, and walnuts) from a candy store in Marysville that has been in business since just after WWII. Yes, it's a mom and pop candy store that has been handed down to the third generation and is still going strong. The Turtle was a perfect example of their continued success. Then there was the cupcake. That was it.... The rest of the day was spent pretty much either avoiding temptation or trying to satisfy cravings without doing too much damage.
Before going to bed last night I made sure to "kill" the sugar that Ron brought home in a care package from the party. I did not want to awaken to any temptations today. Ron does not understand my draw to sweets. He is continually making comments, too, which is really beginning to **** ME.OFF! I tried to talk with him last night and his response was along the lines of "Fine. I won't say anything ever again." That response makes me want to ***** slap him good and how! Instead, I breathed deeply, said what I needed to say in absolute silence to the ether and moved on and went to bed.
Winter came again. It just finished hailing. It rained all night, most of the morning and we just had a thunder cell pass over with hail, lightning and some pretty good booms. I was proud that the dogs went outside to bark at the thunder rather than cower and get stressed.
Since there will be no puppies this summer, I am having fun planning a few little jaunts here and there in the RV. What the hell, right? Juts deciding how far I want to travel. We are going to Portland around the 20th of July. I may just go on up and see some sights in WA, while I'm there. Passport has expired, so I may try to get that renewed in time, so if we want to go into Canada, we can. We'll see what happens. I think a two week Road Trip sounds kind of fun. Me, Ron, and 4 Airedales! LOL!
Just finished a KETO breakfast/lunch to kick start the detox from yesterday: Two jumbo eggs, 2 oz tri tip and 1 ounce of white English Cheddar. Hi fat, medium protein, super low carbs.... completely satisfied, but the head says...dessert! Damn brain!
Ah, a bit of sun is peeking through. Must quickly go scoop poop!
Greetings dear ones
156 today. Amazing due to junk car food, inactivity and PPP(poor potty performance).
So much going on with all. Liz traveling today (good vibes) and Cecily worried about Fergie transport. Sounds like the jet charter is about the safest way to go.
I confess I never heard of Brene either but the comments make sense. Will listen.
Watching a taped SNL. Honestly its become almost too sophomoric for me. Guess I am old.
Great trip plans Diane O. Enjoy.
Not much planned for today. There is a "pop up" museum in our town that we might check out. Plus visit the museum of health foods.
Good on you Ann for managing the BBQ gauntlet. Peps, sorry you were ambushed by sugar but as Scarlet says, "tomorrow is another day".
Picture below is my "staging area" for bandaging hands. Went to CVS and bought about $40 worth of band aids of all sorts. Hard to tape up between thumb and index finger so I need choices.
DH is all excited about Game of Thrones finale. Dany and dragon flying into the sunset sipping Starbucks latte.
Damn, Diane ... that's a lot of bandages. Did your treatment cause wounds? Or are those just to tape the hands/tendons/whatever's going on in there?

LOL, I binged on bandages because I wasn't sure what would work best. But each hand has about 3 places for one so I use a lot. Mostly I just have large pinholes at each site but there is one that is kind of a half inch L shaped tear that is concerning me. But I heal up pretty well so I will be fine. Posted because I buy band aids like some women buy shoes!!! DS
