Well, phooey on those scales! My weight is up 2.2 pounds over Sunday morning's weight. I dunno what the deal is, but let's forge ahead.

Yesterday's talk at the WLS seminar went very well. That strange RnY veteran who sometimes shows up unannounced and disagrees with everything I say did not appear. She got lucky.

Today will be very busy with morning errands. This afternoon at my social club I'll give the "Ann goes to NOLA" talk to my social club. I have handouts. With a bibliography. No one has ever had a handout before. Or a bibliography. And there are wardrobe changes.

On the eating front, today's big challenge will be turning down the dessert our club hostess will offer. I don't need it. And I will not be happy if I eat it. Jeez, Louise! Sugar is so weirdly seductive. God knows I've eaten enough desserts on an empty stomach to know how crappy they make me feel physically and how disappointed I feel afterward. Therefore, I'm using y'all today to be accountable to and promise: I won't eat anything at today's club meeting.

Today's theme: I won't eat sugar today. Today's weirdly apt song!

Eating and sugar... Not going well here.

DH is going down a rabbit hole - difficult, unfocused, and doesn't seem to remember who any of the kids are. Getting him home is going to be a challenge.

SIL's appointment with the oncologist is on Thursday. They forgot to put a referral in the system, so she ended up calling her PCP to follow-up when she still hadn't heard anything. At first they booked her out another week, then pulled it back in. I'm pretty sure she is terminal - I really don't understand how medical people can act so cavalier about someone's life.

Have a thoughtful Tuesday.

Is it possible that he should stay there ? If you get him home and the trend continues, will you be able to get him back down there, if that is what you ultimately decide ? Hugs !

I had the same thought.

Geez - I don't know but at minimum he needs to see his sister. The neurologist would probably give me something heavy duty if needed and I would use a wheelchair.

Justice seems to sense DH is not very "present" anymore. He rarely sits with him and doesn't like to go out to walk with him (but will do both when encouraged).

Oh boy! Too much emotional stuff on your plate! I, too, thought about what Diane O. suggested. Is that something you might consider? Not an easy consideration whatsoever!

It snowed where we RVed last week ! The state park we had reservations for next week called to recommend that we cancel because all of their sites are saturated and they've had to tow many trailers/RVs out. We took their recommendation.

It looks like I'll be in Vancouver BC the 15th through the 25th of August. I'm having fun on Airbnb and VRBO, looking for a place to stay. I believe DC is staying home with the dogs.

Fergus woke me up this morning with some gagging sounds so I got up to check on him. He stood up and was in a pool of urine. I'm going to call the vet when they open, but I'm heartbroken my sweet boy is declining so fast. And I'm so scared to have to go through this on my own. I gave him a quickie undercarriage bath and he is quiet and comfortable right now, but I'm a crying mess.

Oh, sweetheart ... I am so very sorry!

I don't know Ferg in real life, but he's a member of our group too, and I'm grieving with you.
