So glad you're fairing well, Ann! Wishing good results, Bonnie! Sending good day vibes to everyone else too!

Today I went to see my trainer, then we went and had lunch at Veggie Grill. I'm not much for the idea of faux meat, but darned if their VG Burger isn't super tasty. After she came over to meet my sweet fur boy, who brought her his ball. No throwing, but he showed off his balancing skills. He's hanging in there and seems to be sleeping better at night. Less panting I hadn't noticed had become such a thing and less moving around. So less discomfort, easier breathing and more rest. None of that can be bad, right?

After the handyman came and ticked off a long list of stuff. He isolated the garage door issue to the circuit breaker for the plug. It was cycling from 65 to 220v (voltage needed for clothes dryers) and he was surprised the new garage door opener didn't fry. But he doesn't do heavy electrical work so referred me to an electrician. In the meantime though, he rigged an extension cord across the ceiling to another plug so I can use the opener until an electrician can come out. Then he installed two new light switches that are wireless and can be programmed for some outside fixtures. They are smart enough to know when sunrise and sunset are and can come on X minutes before or after. Good I think for when I'm in Michigan. He also fixed the plate around my front door deadbolt that was spinning and hammered and screwed my falling apart gate back together, made it square again, and caulked it so I can paint. All for $145! It felt like a great value considering it was a list that's been sitting around bugging me for a while, none of which I knew how to do. Then I got my car washed.

I think I'm going to play hooky from Pilates tonight...

Greetings Chocolate Lovers

156 today. Works for me. Got out an old UNL t shirt to wear to DH eye doctor who is a UNL alum. Its too tight. Rats

Well Ann bet you are relieved to have eye #2 done. Luxuriate in your hotel and get cappuccino.

Weird Bonnie that flushing the toilet twice is required. Is the stuff radioactive? I had a heart scan before WLS that used something radioactive but no one told me how to flush. My mom had a cat that had radiation treatment and we always joked about how to deal with the radio active turds in the cat box. Vet said flu**** All kidding aside, I am so glad you are safely through the procedure and that good results are heading your way. Go get Ann's abandoned chocolate.

So DH at the eye doctor was actually a retina specialist who comes up from San Fran area every couple of months. Took pictures and did exams. There were a few weird things but he said they were very minor and not much to be done about them other than overall good health habits. So still no explanation on why DH has unsatisfactory vision. I think he is just going to need frequent new lenses.

Liz enjoy the remaining Florida days. How soon is Aruba?

Peps I hope your absence means you are resting.

Yeah, range is a good concept. But if I have a range I am beyond it. Home on the range.........

Pork chops with apples tonight. I want more scotch eggs. Cheers. Diane S

P.S. to lots of today's threads ... I am totally with Bonnie150 about those warm, toasty blankets you are swaddled with during unpleasant medical situations. Today before eye surgery I requested TWO of them! They make everything better and should be offered at fancy restaurants. Tips would go up!

But more importantly, I recently had the blindingly obvious realization that we all own dryers and could enjoy that pleasure ANY TIME WE WANTED!

My dogs have come to expect warm blankies in the morning.

There is something particularly nice when someone brings it to you and tucks you in. I don't even have to know the person to feel special.

So, am I a freak that I HATE warm beds???? I love crawling into a cool (even cold) bed and cuddling up with a down blanket and letting my own body warm the space.

My dryer is a bit far from my bed, so toasty blankets cool off a bit... but I do have a heated mattress pad and it is heaven.
