Good Housekeeping rated TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Color Shampoo as #1 and it is cheap at Walmart so that's what I am trying!

Cecily, another thing about Zion that I only picked up because a bus driver happened to point it out. Sometimes flat rock face reaching to the sky has climbers on it (I wouldn't have seen them if it wasn't pointed out). Not only are they climbing the impossible, but they freaking sleep on the wall, too! So, carrying sleeping stuff and then putting it together and then sleeping on the face of the wall! (I'm sure there is a ledge but still!!!!) Plus carrying food and water? Yet, another genetically different person, in so many ways.

My BIL who lives in Utah used to be one of those people. Now that he's nearing 60, and is wracked up from a few motorcycle accidents, (do the two correlate, in terms of risk taking?), he sleeps in more conventional places.

From watching the documentary, Free Solo (a mus****ch), they have tents that hang in MIDAIR when they're on the wall!! That would be a rude awakening if you forgot and crawled out of your tent without a rope...

I have been wearing shorts again with the warm weather. My legs are lighthouse white. I can no longer abide such paleness! I decided that I would investigate indoor or sunless/spray (UV ray free) tanning. I KNOW NO UV rays are good for the skin, so I'm not going in with my eyes shut. But at 55 I think a little tanning isn't going to do much damage. Whatever damage I did was done as a teen and young adult. Luckily, after I was 19 I didn't tan much or spend much time being semi naked outside! Anyhow, I ended up getting a monthly membership to a fancy schmancy tanning salon down the road. In my dreams I am as tan as Liz, Paul, and Ocean Diane. Should be pretty easy for me since I have always tanned easily without burning. I have not told Ron about this. I'm feeling a little sheepish that I should care about my skin color and self indulgent about spending the money (though it is less than $40 per month for unlimited tanning). I guess my "guilt" is projecting that he will judge me unfavorably for such a vanity.

Yesterday was better on the food front. Far from excellent, but certainly better.

Club lunch this afternoon and then grooming Auntie Kathryn's little Chinese Crested dog. That's it! Yay!

I can't stay out of the sun. I guess that's an upside to our bad weather, I only have a few months a year and some vacations to do some damage. I use self tanners and very occasionally sprays to even out my color in the summer, and to keep it going for awhile in the fall. Don't feel sheepish. My dear husband, of Irish German ancestry decided he's tired of being, as he said, a ghastly pale, do when we got back from the last vacation, he kept his color going with some modest self tanner. People keep asking him what he's up to, telling he looks great etc. It makes a difference.
