Happy weekend, y'all!
This morning I woke up at 1:45 a.m., couldn't get back to sleep and just got up and weighed. If I could sleep at least three or four hours longer I know the scales would reward me with lower numbers.
This pattern of waking up earlier and earlier has been happening for the last week. Yesterday afternoon I was so tired I fell asleep in my chair for an hour and a half. I need to get this thing going in the other direction. Maybe I need some of that CBD oil DianeS bought!
Serious question: Where can I buy legit CBD oil when I live in a state that's not marijuana-retail-friendly? I have seen "CBD Oil" signs placed outside what look like pop-up stores on rural highways, but those places don't inspire my confidence in the quality of their products. I'm so ready for legalization, which will come with at least some regulation.
On the food front, I shouldn't be surprised that even a small-town social calendar messes with my exercise. My steps yesterday were under 5K. And the food offered at the luncheon, although not terrible, was not very satisfying--quiche Lorraine (I ate only the filling, not the crust), a much too small green salad, and a mini-cupcake paper liner of dates and nuts. It wasn't enough protein or veggies for me. On the plus side I turned down wine, bread and dessert and came home to eat some blueberries and Greek yogurt.
I figure everyone knows this already, but I'll share it anyway: Torani sugar-free syrups (found in the coffee aisle) are a calorie-free way to flavor my morning lattes and fat-free, high-protein yogurt (I favor Fage Greek yogurt).
If the rain holds off, this morning's plan is yard work and mowing. This afternoon I might do a nature photography and journaling field trip sponsored by the local museum. Or take another nap. ;)
That's all I got. Go get 'em, y'all!
Today's theme is a ditty playing in my head: "Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again." Here's Frank's version. :)

I've got to work on gratitude and grace, my words for the day. Using my big deal, little deal filter seems a bit less automatic. After a glorious 90 minute massage, my masseuse informed me she'd left her card reader cube home, so she couldn't take credit or debit. Luckily, I am old, and always have some cash on me and some cash hidden in my car, but that's a lot of $$ to scrape up ! I was her first massage of the day, so even though she may have just discovered her error.... Paula, we are joining you with 3-4" of snow overnight and tomorrow. Really ?!!! In one week, we'll be camping in the PA mountains, so better now than then, I guess !!
So, off to seek gratitude and grace, to preserve my serenity.

DianeO, I feel your pain. An unexpected demand for significant cash would sorta bug me, too. If you already have a relationship with her I'd think that "Sorry, but I don't have that much on me, so I'll have to bring it to you next time" should be a reasonable response.
I'm not an Obliger, but I certainly am an "Obliger rising" (I'd rather not make waves) and it occurs to me that attempting to negotiate a solution that also works well for me, not just the other party could become an occasional spiritual practice. Hmm ...
;)

Good morning! You know me and my sleep rules - one is no naps ever (unless resetting to a time zone in Europe). People tell me that melatonin can help, but it never did for me or DH so I wonder if it is a placebo affect for others?? And I know nothing about CBD.
The remaining days of BIL's time here will be 90 degree highs. I think we will probably stick around at the pool today because he wants to take DH to Mass (I haven't taken him since Christmas because he doesn't remember to ask, he can't go alone anymore, and I'm not Catholic and don't want to sit through it). Beach and out to dinner at an outdoor place are on the agenda for the next few days, except for Tuesday when DH goes to daycare.
ETA: I'm thrilled with my new hair color (lowlights added to my highlights)! It is much more what I'm used to. I'm apparently a level 7 blonde (medium). Who knew? Of course now I have to buy different shampoo to maintain the color...
Have a satisfying Saturday!

Liz, I saw your new hair color on Facebook. It looks GREAT! :)

Thanks - it was way too blonde before - much better now!

On my mind:
DianeS's shopping square: much, much CBD and hemp clothing offered. I feel like that's a place that takes their quality seriously. Ann,like you, I would be wary of what's available to you. I worry less about the CBD content (and assume it might be zero) and more about what else might be in there that is undeclared. No one is monitoring. No one.
Shampoo and hair products: a surprising source of friction in this household. I think part time Starbuck baristas should shop the drug store for products. Big girl wage earners get to shop the salon.
I have new (comfortable) shoes to try today on hike. Gotta get a move on...going to one where parking runs out quick.
Paula!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just a happy hug to see you. Cecily, so jelly as I find my rain coat. Shirl, just stop what you are doing, whatever it is. Stop it and rest!
Love you all, Shel

Shel, thanks for weighing in on Ozarkian CBD quality. That's what I'm afraid of -- what I don't know and what the seller may not know either.
I will check out buying CBD from Washington or Colorado. From a distance those states seem to have their act together (comparatively speaking, anyway).
Have a good hike. :)
