I semi-seriously tried to get my husband to spend some time near Zion in retirement. I loved the whole vibe of that little town and taking the bus into the park. So easy.
Oh, one thing that happened by chance....I arrived in Zion in the afternoon and started the Angels hike mid afternoonsish. This ended up being perfect because the sun wasn't beating down on me as I did the switchbacks up. Plus, no crowds. Anyway, I am always terrible at timing sun to hikes -- usually not an issue here at home.
For Narrows, I was literally on the first bus which I ended up liking because the water was so busy later in the day. That hike was a surprise love. I wasn't going to do it (hate cold and water) but met a couple from Canada who said that it was their favorite hike in North America.
I don't know if you are thinking of either hike and I am no expert. But, I am uber caffeinated at the moment and SUPER EXCITED for you! Can't wait to hear your experiences.
Have great fun! (and hydrate)

Greetings all
Running late. 154 I think. More shrimp salad tonight with a wonderful ripe tomato. DH has consented to eat it.
All this RV talk is interesting. I would hate to drive one of those though I could see doing shotgun. There are zillions of them around here. Lots of campgrounds I think though some people live year round.. Don't do well in small spaces either.
Ann, you should go to that gathering even if you don't want to buy one. I have no doubt that its a rip roaring time and quite different from NOLA galas. Just as long as you have an escape plan just in case. You will likely be the belle of the ball like on the cruise ship. I dare you to show up in the tutu and cowboy boots.
Working on my art show for July. Feeling somewhat inspired. Its a series of abstract orbs which could be vases but are more like alien eggs.
Studio is celebrating its 20 anniversary by making a wall of fish to put up in our garden lunch area. Ceramic fish of all sorts which are glazed and can hang outside. Also a poster which my DH has agreed to photograph.
New rule. We are going out to dinner once a week. Period. I am sick of cooking. Of course, our town only has about 5 restaurants other than pizza. We will manage.
Shirley get well but take it slow. For pete's sake don't overdo at work.
Bargain shopping for the homeless tomorrow. And NO, I will not buy surplus peeps. They just save them year to year.
Take care. Diane S
LOL. "Tutu and cowboy boots!" Don't think those would work out too well for the hiking and kayaking expeditions planned.
My North Carolina friend who owns a Travato insisted that I join this private FB group for "Travato Owners and Wannabees" just so I could see what good folks Trivato enthusiasts are. That's where I got invited to this Arkansas hoedown.
BTW, I introduced myself to the group as someone who has 36 purses. I think they've got my number.
P.S. I love the fish wall concept and the alien egg theme. Very much.

It was a rather crazy day at work, and sadly, one of my students ended up suspended. It was completely necessary, but I still hate to see it happen. Sigh. From serious misconduct to crazy shenanigans, you would think it was a full moon. Spring fever maybe, more like spring mania.
It's our department's turn to host a staff lunch this month. Instead of a potluck, we choose a theme, take me out to the ballgame, and I offered to collect money and go buy the food. Our menu is hot dogs, chips, ice cream, pickles, cracker jacks and root beer. Yes I am contributing to yet another junk food fest in another teacher's lounge. So as I arrived at Sam's club with my envelope of cash collected from my colleagues, I felt like a drug dealer :) As I loaded my cart with salty and sweet carbs, it occurred to me that perhaps I am! Regardless of my personal guilt, the theme already seems to be a hit, and I think we'll have a good time.
