Our first Forest River gathering is in Gettysburg PA, the last week in June . Lots of activities, tours, and social events planned . I can't wait to pick the brains of more experienced fellow owners ! Peps... Before you get an estimate, remember that getting into position on the pad takes more radius than the pad itself. You don't want to be jockeying in an out to "remain between the lines" . I wish we'd thought of this.

I am extremely tight on space so, it's going to be what it's going to be. I have about 9 feet between the eave of the house and the fence. Then it opens up because we have a pie shaped lot that gets wider to the rear. At this point, I'm seriously thinking about trading in the trailer for a full blown RV. I have my reasons, but I have to figure out if it's really cost effective.
I didn't know about wet baths so I spent some time zooming on Travato pics. No, not the most pleasant, I would think. But, seriously small calls for serious sacrifices.

I toy with the idea of a small RV to get Ferg and any future dogs to and from Michigan. But I worry about being able to maneuver it myself (driving seems like it would be fine, but parking it, backing up alone, etc) and the whole emptying tanks thing. I've also heard if you actually use the potty, it can make the RV stinky? Happy to have my fears allayed!
This morning I went to see the trainer and now I have to finish packing for Utah (leave this afternoon), shower, and get Ferg to the family that is taking care of him. It's a new-to-us person I found on Rover.com from my neighborhood as the last sitter isn't sitting right now. I hate leaving him with someone new! But I think it's better for him to be in a house than in a kennel with a lot of other dog activity and none of my friends could take him. I used to take him to a day care/boarding place and they had cameras where you could watch them in daycare online. He just walked in circles panting, not playing, having any fun or resting at all. It's just not the right place for him. I met the new guy and one of his young kids and they seemed like nice people who liked Ferg...
The toilet tanks are sealed. They do not smell up the trailer or RV. Plus there are little packs you can buy to liquify and deodorize all waste that gets flushed down, including the TP. RVs are easier to maneuver than a trailer. Trailers are an utter ***** to back up unless they are fairly small - that is until you get the hang of it. Once you master the backing up part, trailers have some major perks over RVs when it comes to flexibility of travel.
Where in Utah is this? There isn't elevation to save you from the heat? I am having a hard time wrapping my head around 91 temps in Utah in April. (Confession: I lack geography smarts.). Southern Utah? Even then, I year ago I was in Bryce Canyon/Zion/Las Vegas and it wasn't that hot anywhere. Only Vegas was warm
