Weight: 142.4
Macros: Cals - 1,326, Carbs - 115, Fat - 42, Protein - 102, Fiber - 26
Sleep: 7 hours
Veggie/Fruit Servings: 9
Water glasses: 8
Exercise: 10,500 real steps, and 1.3 hours mowing
Meditation: Yes
I've now three weeks on the regain loss program under my belt, and the results look like this:
Week 1: 7.0 lb loss., avg daily cals. = 1,255
Week 2: 1.4 lb loss, avg daily cals = 1,274
Week 3: 0.8 lb gain, avg daily cals = 1,355
And that, ladies and germs, is how weight loss sometimes goes - I'm on the tail end of a plateau and even gained a little last week. I am sure the small weight gain is due to my becoming more physically active with yoga class and more work on the property. So no biggie.
However, this coming week I plan to hold my daily cals under 1,300. I'll be in yoga class, walking and mowing and sip-sip-sipping tha****er. Onward and downward.
Headed back to The Big City today for another session with my therapist (he had a cancellation, and I took it since I'd missed so many sessions this winter) and to see the eye surgeon who wants to do a current eye exam before performing cataract surgery on my right eye. I may soon be able to see again! :)
It's Monday and springtime--a good day for new beginnings. :)
Today's theme: Make good choices.

I am not sure which post to answer, but this one is at the top of the list!
I am not weighing this morning (was thinking I would do so once a week). I ate 3 ounces of ham then drank a LOT of water (not used to the salt I guess), so I know I'd be up. I'd guess I stayed about the same this week though- I had some good days and not so good ones.
BIL arrived mid-day yesterday and my low-effort Easter meal came out well. We have enough ham for the next two weeks so hopefully BIL will help with that! Today we were going to go to the beach as it will be glorious out, but BIL just came out to say that he was constipated and not going anywhere until he feels better. TMI...
Oh and DH just came out to say that those people told him to get up, and "he" died (apparently I don't know "him"). Sigh...
Have a more than good Monday!

Good morning!
36 purses? I can see how that happens but what about storage? I also think it says something quite positive about your relationship with your DH that you have, on hand, such an impressive collection.
In a whisper.... "I own 4 chest heart rate monitors." But, they are small, and fit in my downstairs bandaid drawer. No one knows but me, and now, all of you.
OMG, I am exhausted --such a contrast to last week when I felt positively bouncy on Monday, absolutely recovered from long hikes, feeling like all the training is paying off. I blame today's blues on the mountaineering boots...they are stiffer than hikers. I can't blame them, they are made for a different purpose. But YIKES. No blisters, tho, there is that. So I want to declare them broken in and go back to hikers. But, maybe it is good to suffer with these boots of torture? I could go on and on about this whole conundrum (much like ceiling fans, I suspect) but we all have lives to live.
Find contentment, Dear God, WHERE IS IT?

Why would mountain boots be such instruments of torture? Are they as difficult for everyone?

From what I can tell, the torture comes from the shanks. Before yesterday, I only knew shanks to be a movie prisoner's weapon.
The shank is a super stiff material (in the old days it was steel) that runs between insole and outsole. It makes the boot able to accommodate crampons. It also protects the wearer from pointy rocks in the trail (plus one for that!)
So the shank is makes them very stiff which affects gait plus they weigh a bit more. From a comment section "people wearing hikers are just happier people than the people wearing mountaineering boots." (Plus 5 for that!) I know it isn't limited to me. On Rainier, we might take separate "approach" hikers with us. A different (more extreme) example than Mt St Helens but the same principles apply.

Weight: 192.2 But I think some of that is just Easter ham salt.
Ann-Love the movie about Time. And love that actor too (I believe he's a British Shakespearean actor, actually. He's also in Love Actually. Maybe I'm a bit of an anglophile after all!). I've always been so interested in the concept of time travel. I wonder if that's a book? I much preferred that movie to the Time Travelers Wife. But I've read neither. Also I'd be interested in places other than Paris to visit. I think we're going to help send my parents on a trip by giving them a timeshare outside Paris. We've been to Paris before and they love it--but this will cut down on cost for a timeshare we won't be able to use (near Euro Disney). The nice side is it should be relaxing accommodations--full kitchen, laundry, etc. Downside is: not Paris. I recommend they possibly tack 2 nights in Paris onto one shoulder of their stay if they so desire. So far it looks like Reims would be a great place for them to travel to, Rouen, and Provins. Fontainebleau looks like an amazing Chateau. They also want to see Monet Gardens at Giverny. They've been to Versaille so I think that's a pass. If they want a really long day trip they *might be able to make it to Mont St. Michele or some outskirts or Normandy. My mom was a HS French teacher before becoming an attorney, so I'm sure she'll be excited to exercise some French-speaking. I'd really like to encourage them to join one of the French-speaking clubs here. Currently they are trying to decide between this trip this September and Oberramergau for the Passion Play next summer. I say: do both!
Shel-luckily Becca doesn't eat too many sweets right now, but that's rapidly changing. I can see that being an issue for me. There is just something that makes my soul content with a candy bowl or homemade cookies. I so associate that with love. Sometimes I'm good about it...and sometimes I dip into it more than I'd care to admit. Even my DSD commented on how I haven't replaced the broken jelly bean di****'s missed!
DD-sounds like spring has sprung in your section of the world? Hurrah! I guess at least snow hid some of your "brush." My backyard has just looked like trash for 6 months. I really need to vow to do better next year. Winter is depressing enough without the dead pots and leaves in the patio.
Diane S.-relentless food pushers. I'm sorry. Why do people have to ruin nice things like Easter egg hunts and Christmas lights?
Diane O-Good for your daughter! Too bad she'll be so far away from you. But more fun vacationing spots! What a truism that we are all "in training."
Liz-I'm so sorry you're having to make such difficult decisions for your DH. ((hugs)) Glad your low-stress Easter went well. Hope you can soak in these memories.
MissBonnie-That Easter egg you posted is gorgeous!
Cecily-what a cute puppy-bunny!
DH and I had an EXTREMELY busy weekend. But it was really awesome. DH was home with Becca and DSD on Friday. DSS came over to help move some furniture in and out of Becca's room and in and out of the nursery and after we put Becca to bed, we grilled burgers and then DH watched a movie with DSD. On Saturday we took Becca to her first Easter egg hunt and she actually knew what to do! But lost interest a couple eggs in. DH had to show the rental properties a few times and in-between that I baked cookies, we took Becca to see the easter bunny (and she was all smiles, yay!), picked up the ham, picked up the cake, he showed the properties again while I grabbed groceries. Finally we got some downtime at a friend's Easter cookout. Becca got to hunt more Easter eggs (but this time was happy with the ONE she got lol). Then we went home and dyed eggs with the big kids, decorated the cookies, and I made a potato casserole and carrots to take over to my mom's on Easter. I do love to cook...but a baby really throws a wrench into the timing of cooking!
On actual Easter, we got Becca up and dressed, Easter baskets, a beautiful Easter service, and came home to lunch at my mom's: ham (store-bought), rolls (store-bought), mustard sauce (mom) deviled eggs (mom and sister), pea salad (mom), potato casserole (me), glazed carrots (me), asparagus (sister), cake (store-bought).
I was very thankful that my mom hosted it so that I could come home to a semi-clean house. We were pooped by last night. But feeling very thankful for it ALL.
Greetings Easter Survivors
Whew BB, you certainly had a full holiday weekend. But its what you should do with your young family! At my age I had the perfect Easter which consisted of drinking coffee in pj's, doing a modest amount of cooking, then going to the home of good friends for shared dinner and pleasant company. I am up a pound due to ham and a think slice of chocolate cake. But I still ate only about 1/3 of what others ate. (nose in air).
Shel, those boots sound like torture. One reason (of many) I am not into hiking is that all boots hurt me. All. I can rub blisters in minutes. Hope you get yours broken in soon so they work for you.
Liz we all feel for you. Hope the search for accommodations for DH works out.
Sun is out today which is always a mood lifter. Kiln opens and we shall see what there is.
Hey all, we are now into season 2 of The Crown. Enjoying it - thanks for the recommendation. Then DH had to revert to Game of Throwns. Just can't get into it.
Wishing everyone a wonderful spring day.
Diane S
No, you didn't misspell any French that I noticed.
J'aime quand tu parles français!

Worked out, hair colored and cut, forgot a lunch I had scheduled with friends (argh), cleaned out my cooler for my Utah hiking trip Wednesday, walked Ferg, talked a friend down off the selling-her-home-troubles ledge, ate too much, brushed Ferg, played with Ferg, and now it's nearly 8 and I am ready for it to be bedtime...
Hopefully tomorrow will be more interesting!
