Midday mowing report: Just broke for lunch. Mowing is going great. Sunshine may be BEST antidepressant in the solar system. :) After lunch, I have to drive to town in DH's pickup to get more diesel fuel for the Kubota mower and some fresh gasoline for the John Deere equipment. Then it's back out on the mower.
BTW, my step meter clocked 8,500 "steps" in an hour of mowing this morning. This might wind up being a "best ever" steps day. LOL!
Also, an important edit to my Netflix movie review (above): The correct name of the movie I enjoyed on Netflix last night is "About Time."

It just doesn't looked very "jerked," or maybe I'm thinking of "pulled pork."
Either way, the recipe is way too damn complicated for me.

I've been working outside on a few tasks, and enjoying the sun. One task was picking up all the downed sticks and small limbs from the front lawn. The spring blizzards really shook things up. My DH says it's all good, because we have self pruning trees.
We have a fairly large brush pile in our backyard. It's not a typical suburban thing, but our yard's pretty private, so I don't think it's an issue with any neighbors. We also have a lot of unruly trees~ besides being self pruning, they drop seeds, and cotton, have lumpy roots poking up everywhere, and are generally messy. They are not refined trees, bred for civilized suburban life in a nice nursery, than sold at a fancy garden shop. They either came with the lot, or we dug them up out of grandparents pasture 30 some years ago and transplanted them here. And I love the brush pile and unfairly trees because we have a lot of little creatures, and some medium ones living here. One day, I opened the curtains on the deck to see a family of woodchucks peering in the patio door. That might have been a little too much wildlife! As the neighborhood became more developed, they moved on.
I'm thinking about Ann and her tuna salad. There are so many thoughts I can't articulate. Today I also had an unplanned snack because I was hungry ~ 1/2 cup cottage cheese and 1/4 blueberries. And it turned out I really was hungry because I inhaled it. But the mind games, oh lordy! I was hungry and I ate good, nourishing food. But my brain is still registering it as a "cheat" in some weird way. I'm coming up on 7 years since my surgery. How is this what to eat, when to eat, how much to eat still so complicated?
Greetings Fine Ones
156 today. Rushed off to take food to the homeless outreach program and then on to the gallery. I went next door to the fresh fudge store to buy a bottle of water. The clerk tried to force feed me some fudge samples. I told her I was not a sugar eater (big lie). She said "you will be if you try this fudge"! Really! I had the urge to lecture her about sugar but decided she was just doing her job so I would be nice.
Hey Ann, nothing wrong with a tuna binge. You were indeed hungry. I crave tuna salad at times. Got a tomato stuffed with it the other day at the hippie coop.
Great sale day at the gallery. Lots went out the door. Surprising since its a blustery windy day.
Hope everyone has a nice easter tomorrow. We are going to friends to eat ham. I am making spinach with sour cream plus cheese crisps.
I see on FB that Devon won big with his pup. Yay.
Diane O hope SS gets on the road without too much yard damage.
I remember years ago being at Kiliuea in Hawaii and there were all these rock stacks - like dozens, and I remember being told it was a bad thing but I forgot why. Thanks for the reminder Cecily. But I still have the rock stack urge.
My brother with the recent brain surgery has been moved to a different rehab to regain strength. Not sure what's up there. He has been through a lot.
Cheers to all. Diane S
I'd say that your body needed that chicken salad! It is hard to eat the same calories every day and that was a lot of protein to pack in.
