Greetings Lovely People
155.5 today. The slow but steady gain over the last couple of years seems to have leveled off. Truth is I don't really mind this weight even though its too much and Dr. Cirangle would eviscerate me (oh wait, he already did).
Yay Ann for handling the buffet and noticing other slim people do the same. And I bet you have no regrets later of having skipped those foods but you would have regrets had you eaten them. Many years ago on one of my traditional diets I passed on a dessert at a country club lunch. It was caramel pecan something or another. I grieved for months for not having eaten it as it looked like the best thing in the world. Finally over it. But it pissed me off that think women ate it. So lets all remind ourselves that most of the time a gooey dessert will only leave us with regrets.
Once in high school we had to write an essay on what we would do if the world would end in 24 hours. I wrote how I would make a chocolate cake and eat the whole thing. My good friend wrote that she would go buy lots of roses and pass them out to little old ladies on the street. What a contrast. My friend is to this day drop dead beautiful both inside and out. But if I had 24 hours, I still might do the cake thing and spend my last moments on earth barfing.
Cecily thanks for the update on Shirley. I forgot - was it knee surgery? Let us know if you hear anything.
Diamond bet you are glad you did not shovel. There is a special cozy feeling being snowed in but it gets old.
Liz, reading in the pool sounds fun. I really wish I had a soaking tub in the house.
Hmm, bank seems to have f'd up on a deposit I made. Gotta fix it. This is the bank that always has peanut butter cups and other good candy and I always eat some.
Shrimp tonight. Good old costco.
Liz, consider that your SIL is getting about 800 plus calories from her drinking. Alcoholics frequently don't like to eat much. Not sure why. Tough situation for you. Aruba awaits!
I am going to have to put my nag hat on to get DH to deal with the yard. I would be happy to pay someone to do it but he swears he will do it. Its pretty bad.
Cheers. Diane S
LOLing about your last 24 hours on earth fantasy. Screw handing out roses to old people. I'm also going for chocolate cake if this is The End.

I especially like these quotes and may post them as a reminder:
- "have no regrets later of having skipped those foods but you would have regrets had you eaten them"
- "most of the time a gooey dessert will only leave us with regrets"
