Weight's a little down today at 142.6. And I slept a full 8 hours, which was wonderful.
Yesterday turned out to be a down-energy day, thanks to too little sleep the night before and a flat mower tire. Consequently, I napped a good deal and didn't make all my steps or water. But this morning I'm feeling much chippier.
That big black bean "burger" salad was on the menu again yesterday. I'm so enjoying that.
Here in the Ozarks we're not getting any Colorado snow, but overnight we did have some April showers. Today will be sunny with a high of 59.
Today there's a community luncheon to benefit the local college library. I've already planned my outfit. Turns out it's a good thing I didn't toss all the big size 8 and small size 10 slacks. Those will see me through this losing-the-regain period.
With the upcoming writing workshop in mind, yesterday I did a writing exercise and planned some other exercises. In my experience, building a writing habit is just like building any other habit - you start small, write every day, and gradually increase the time you devote to it. Quantity first, quality later, i.e., pages first, editing second.
This week's theme/mantra: "I take good care of myself."

Posting 2 (I think you could have changed the title is an edit though???)
Calories 1520. Arghhh... not out of control but I couldn't resist having a piece of pizza I didn't need. Like Cecily, I need control over my eating to feel like I have good control over my life. Back on the wagon today...
Today it will be 90 and we are going to Boca Grande where the beaches are like the Caribbean. Reminds me of Aruba where DD is currently vacationing (and I will be in June).
Oh and DS took a new Executive Chef job near us on Cape Cod so he will be staying at our house for another 15 months. Probably just as well with DH's issues. Though I sure wasn't an empty nester for very long. The new job is more money and a step up in terms of responsibility, so it is a good move. He is dreading giving his notice today and is afraid the owner will refuse to give him the 2 quarters bonuses owed him.
Have a fantastic Friday!

Liz, yes, that would have been much better. But I didn't realize ****il now) that I could edit the TITLE of a thread.
Live, screw up, and learn. ;)
Thanks.

Weight, all time post wls-high. Kicking myself.
I CAN get this off. It's 6 weeks of bad eating. Amazing the damage I can do in 6 weeks. But I can undo 6 weeks damage easier than if I let it continue unaddressed.
I had a good therapy session yesterday. Lots of discussion about eating, overwhelm, anxiety, coping, self-care, and sitting with the discomfort of not giving into my cravings and trying to label what's going on with my emotions when those craving**** We talked about where those impulses to make bad food choices come from when my logical brain knows better but some other part of my brain panics and yells, "throw a doughnut at it! That'll fix it!" It's a crutch that allows me to momentarily check out of life and avoid whatever I don't want to deal with be it emotions or tasks. Then the moment passes and I've not only consumed an extra 1000 calories, but I still have to deal with whatever I was avoiding. Blahhhhhhh.
I took my car in for service this morning. The dealership I bought it from used put an alarm (now disabled) in front the diagnostic port so they can't insert the thing that reads the car diagnostics. I told them it's not in use so they can disconnect it, but it sounds like they don't want to touch it because they didn't do it and they don't know what it's connected to. Argh. Doughnut moment. I did not indulge, but felt the pull.
Heading out now for a hike. Will deal with the car when they call later.
Happy Friday!
In NYC. Didn't bring computer, so relegated to my phone. My daughter is carbing up to run a half marathon Sunday..intending to stay my course.

Greetings All
155 still. Its a sleepy Saturday (ie DH is napping) and I am getting ready to go do gallery duty. In spite of nice weather, it will be slow. Must take plenty of cross words.
Need to stop at the discount grocery for items for the homeless outreach. We have years worth of free unopened toothbrushes from the dentist so I will take those too. Gets rid of clutter and helps someone. Win win.
Have a great hike Cecily. My hike today will be about 3 blocks from the non ticketed parking to the gallery. I will take water and a few cheese sticks to survive on. Mainly boredom.
Made meatloaf last night and it was good. Put some chopped up carrots in it. Ann, does ketchup count as a vegetable? I once saw this condiment labeled in a Chinese restaurant as "Cat-Sup".
So far, my self care for the day consists of taking vitamins, drinking a glass of skim milk and putting on my fit bit. I will be taking my highlighter so I can underline stuff in my book on getting old
Thats about it. Later maybe. Diane S
