I suppose that perhaps the eating or the food is taking the place of true self care. Makes sense to me.

Yes, self-calming vs self-caring

Greetings Wonderful Ones

I realized I didn't post yesterday. I checked in several times with the intention of doing so but somehow kept getting interrupted. Friend was here for computer consulting with DH. Non stop chatter all afternoon to set up one email account.

Well I read the tiny Buddha article and while it was interesting, it sort of made me feel like I was failing at mindfulness and self care. Have to review it in a better frame of mind.

BB you look great. Glad you shared the pictures of your glorious self. And so true that women bring on their own unhappiness by over stressing looks, weight etc. I am reading a book called Women Rowing North about aging. The author changed gyms from one with a younger crowd to one with older women. She observed that the younger women didn't seem very happy and were always stressing about weight, looks, relationships, status or whatever. She said the older group did not stress about such things, were very self accepting and were much happier.

Today's message: Accept Thyself.

Ann you so have this maintenance thing down. If we all did like you it would be great. More water and more walking is what I need.

10 Weeks to Ranier Shel. You are gonna kill it. 11,000 feet is 1100 flights of stairs which is like 10 times the Empire State Building. Right?

Its pouring rain here today - we should get up to 6 inches. It means lowland flooding but won't impact us. Just a day inside.

Went to an art show and wine tasting yesterday. Supper yummy cheeses. A tiny but fun place.

Kiln opening, errands, banking, pharmacy and the endless search for something for dinner. Last night we had precooked bacon from costco on lettuce with tomatoes and mayo. Yummy any time of year. Halibut is in at the health food store so may get some of that. Peps, my DH cannot make a dinner if his like depended on it. Shows no interest in learning. As a child *****ally liked food and ate everything, I became interested in cooking so I could make what I wanted. DH idea of a gourmet dinner is White Castle.

DH has a big eye doctor apt tomorrow. We get some results of some sort of scan. He is apprehensive. I will go along.

Warmth and hugs and good vibes to all. Diane S. PS 155 today.
