Calories 780, protein 136, carbs 55, fat 17 (creamer calories not counted). Today is day 5 "on the wagon". It may only be my imagination but a I feel a teeny bit thinner around the middle. I'll let my brain feel that way until I weigh next week.
This morning our walking group is doing a 6 mile walk (we usually do 3), beginning at 7:30 am. I'm up anyway at my usual 6:30, but I was up earlier this morning and multiple times during the night as DH kept getting up. The trazodone which was supposed to help with sleep is not working... I need to talk to the neurologist about other solutions. We see him in late May.
We went to Sarasota to the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens and they were beautiful! Picture below. Have a fine Friday!

Yesterday was another good eating/water/walking day, and I'm down another 1.4 pound(s). This first week's weight loss has been spectacular -- 6.8 pounds in 4 days. Just goes to show how toxic my body was. I know these big daily losses won't continue, but I am now confident I'll reach 135 pounds before summer.
I am also happy to finally be drinking 64 daily ounces of mere water. That's something I have tried and failed to do many times before this week. Suddenly, it's easy because I'm so motivated to lose the NOLA weight!
My book club did NOT meet yesterday, due to a member's illness (we rescheduled for Monday). But I'm compelled to say that if you're tempted to read Where the Crawdads Sing, you may not wish to be seduced by the book's rampant popularity. It's the least satisfactory book I've read in years. It's chick lit (which I don't care for), has a trite novel structure probably designed by some novel consultant, and dishes out buckets of jaw-droppingly bad African-American dialect (the author should re-read Mark Twain if she's determined to go that route). How bad is the book? Nicholas Sparks bad. Which means the derivative movie will likely be a mega-hit. As always, others' mileage will vary. Even before our book club has met in person to discuss the book we're nearly at blows over our differences of opinions. Folks are taking this one personally.
And back in real life, today's agenda includes the last bits of unpacking, loads of laundry, sorting mail, paying bills, and running errands.
This week's continuing theme: Weigh, water, walk.

I will avoid that book like the plague. At this point in life if I start a poorly written book I may try to muscle through for a bit, but if I'm not engrossed in it quickly enough I put it aside.
Great news on the weight drop! I suspect mine is not so spectacular but I won't know because I was too afraid to weigh on Monday.
Are you going to have your other eye done soon?

I am the same about books! I remember years ago trying to read A Room with a View. I got 50 pages in and was bored out of my skin. I told myself if I wasn't sucked in by page 75 I'd put it aside. I made it to about page 60 and gave up. I know people loved the book, but I found it absolutely slow and boring.
I'm hoping to get in the surgery queue this month (April). Will see my local optometrist next week -- the next step in the process.
I will say this about delaying my second catarct surgery for 5 months: I definitely increased my adaptability skillz.

I'm so glad for your opinion on the book! Everyone I talk to keeps raving about it (one said it replaced To Kill a Mockingbird as her favorite book of all time). Feel like the hype has taken on a life of its own. It's always nice to hear a grounded review of books like that...
Jesus Christ! This tripe replaced To Kill a Mockingbird?!
Bless her heart.

Freezing rain this morning, followed by 60's for the next three days. Dogs are going to groomer this morning for nails. I can't see spending the $$ on baths right now, as they'll be rolling in mud by this afternoon. Fido, our male Ragdoll, is having his spring lion cut.
Yesterday, we went into the garage upright freezer for the first time since returning, to discover it had died, along with our frozen food. We cleaned that mess out and went to Lowes and found a smaller chest freezer, to be delivered tomorrow (they'll take upright). It may have been something simple, but the minimum repair charge would have been just about as much as the new freezer !
