Hello all!
Especially glad to see Ann checking in!
Liz-glad your tool is working again. Usually I experience the same thing--I'll fear it's not working when I can eat a ton of crud, but then after detoxing a day or two and eating proper protein in the proper manner, it works! Go figure!
Shel-excited to hear about your travels back
Diane O.-Snow?!! Now that's just one heck of an April fool's joke
I don't think I ever updated on my weight from OB.
((I have a problem with scale weights. But this is why))
So I weigh pretty much every day in mostly the same fashion--same scale, nekkid, sometimes my bathroom habits might slightly affect the outcome. But this should be pretty "correct", right? Not only that, but because I post here, I can follow exactly my weight. Well, Dr.'s office has quite a phenomenal scale that has been like 6lbs. under my home scale. But I know they're following the "trend" so it didn't bother me (and who wouldn' want to report a lower weight to the doc?!!). Aaaaanyway. My home scale showed like 2lbs. lower from 2 weeks ago so I was fully expecting the same at the doctor (and, if you're following, the doctor scale should've been at least 6lbs. lighter than my home scale weight on Friday.). Well they took me to a different scale at the doctor's office and my weight was up SIX POUNDS in 2 weeks. So this is why I distrust the "science" behind watching weights. I was slightly upset (I was expecting a loss, definitely not a gain) which is nutso because I am pregnant. But I also just don't believe it. It's not like my scale suddenly recalibrated. It's alarming because a 6lbs. gain in 2 weeks might be edging on concerning--even for pregnancy. Whereas a 2lb. loss tells quite a different story. Moral of the story: don't get too caught up in scale weights. I mean, of course, they do give us some information. And I do believe they've been one of the most important things at keeping me honest in my journey. but it really shouldn't upset your whole day or plan or define how you've been eating or what you plan to do in the future.
Wowza busy weekend, just like I'd thought. But it was very pleasant :) Dinner Friday was with friends who have quite a stringent diet. Ermagherd I'm getting so annoyed with this. I don't even offer to bring food anymore. I know it's controlling but whatever happened to people who just eat? So my aunt is vegan and therefore my parents don't want to have their group of friends over anymore because it's too difficult. My sister is now keto. The people we had dinner with on Friday the husband is pretty much go along to get along but the wife is no dairy, no gluten, no sugar. When I had them to dinner at my house I knew they ate very healthy and so arranged everything (that junky hubby and I don't particularly like!) only to have her bring basically her own meal. DH is usually not so snarky but he commented we should've shown up to dinner with our own fast food lol. It actually was quite nice--grapes and olives and crisps, salmon, broccoli, roasted potatoes, and salad, and cherry frozen yogurt. I did feel pretty guilty for leaving Becca again on Friday.
Saturday we went to a kid birthday party and then she came down with a fever. We had dinner out with friends (who are "keto" but I question if they know what that means) at a very nice steakhouse and--we won't be going back. Wow this is getting complainy. DH had to send back his steak not once, but TWICE. The sides were cold to start. 2 of the others also had to send back their steaks. We were all in agreement...never again. But they did right by giving us steaks half price. I've never known them to do that (I was banking on a free dessert). Then we stayed up way to long with this couple playing a game called Cribbage.
Sunday mom and dad watched Becca so DH and I could go to a NBA game. I'd say the theme of the weekend was date night for DH and me. Despite weird food requirements, we had lovely time with everyone, everywhere!
Haven't checked my weight today. Can't believe I could have a baby in 8 short weeks or less. Guess my weight will be okay.

Weight: Crisis weight minus 1.4 pounds
7.5 mile hike this morning and it's warming up! I have a shorty twilight sunset view hike (2.5 miles) tonight, plus one more dog walk (one done already). I was so hungry I ate too way much after, but it wasn't crappy food so that has to be somewhat of a victory of sorts?
Happy Tuesday!
