Calories 872, so I finally got them down. And of course with proper eating, my tool works and I'm not hungry. Now to sustain that...

DH was very foggy most of yesterday. Today he goes to senior daycare where I have to talk to them about the guy who he feels was bullying him. With all his fuzziness, he still keeps bringing that up. I suspect he was pushed a bit and overacted based on previous sensitivity in crowds. He doesn't like to feel pushed at anytime.

i don't know what SIL and I will do. Possibly go to a botanical garden.

Have a taco Tuesday!

Snow here the last two mornings, but up into 50's in the afternoon today and tomorrow. Atlas has this big barking dog thing going on (must be contagious, Peps !) when he sees animals or people walking by the front of our house. Half of the time we can redirect his attention, the other half not so much. DC usually ends up closing the drapes and then I feel like I'm in a cave. We have sheers in front of the drapes, but Atlas parts them with his nose in a heartbeat. I LOVE natural light, especially after the winter we had. I ordered some textured window film (static based v. sticky) and want to try that.

Shel and DD, looking forward to hear how your first few days back go. Diane, what did you find in the kiln ? Cecily, your salad looked outstanding !! Shirl... I get tired listening to how much you do ! I hope all of the people you help with meals and chores will be there for you !! Liz, you've got to be getting excited about Aruba !! Ann.... How is your transition back ? Peps, not sure how much of that was an April Fool's joke ! Positive thoughts to all !

Do you mean my post of Facebook about Bacall? If so, here's the tell:

Okay, now that it's April 2, I must confess.... April fools! EXCEPT nothing I posted was untrue. Most of you all just figured I was bragging about my new puppy! LOL! However, Bacall is owned and loved by Dave Guzeman and Betsy Bayha. Bacall is Rena'ssance Divine-Here's Looking at You. She is sired by Foxfire's I'm Super Sonic (aka Cancun) out of Rena'ssance Total Eclipse of the Heart (Bonnie). I am super excited to show her this month and honestly, if Dave and Betsy had said, "Hey, Devon, Do you want Bacall?" I would have screamed yes and introduced her to the pack ASAP! I truly do love that little bit. She's going to grow up into one heck of a wonderful dog!

Funny you should say that Diane - past 24 hours events have left me feeling very disillusioned with things - I would like to say yes but doubting at this point in time. Taking some time to reflect and heal at the moment. That being said I do and give not to receive back - but its nice to feel you matter when you need it

I drove home Sunday and am now back in the country. Thanks to the young man who looked after my house and property while I was gone, everything is in good shape here. I am so very, very happy to be home!

I've got so much to debrief about. But I won't try to do it all today. As you can see, during three months in NOLA I gained 15 pounds, half of which piled on during the past four weeks. There's a lot to debrief about regarding my weight gain, which I won't try to do today. But here are some bottom lines:

Yes, NOLA was an amazing experience. I am very glad I went on that adventure. I enjoyed so much about it and learned so much. But there was a down side, too. The last six weeks (even before Mardi Gras ended) were tough emotionally. I was physically exhausted, missing my husband terribly, resorted to some pretty serious binge eating, and felt quite depressed.

Needless to say, I want to sort all this out. And I will sort it out. But first I'm focused on getting physically healthy again - losing this regain, sleeping well, drinking lots of water, taking all my meds and supplements, etc. In short, I will be "on retreat" out here in the country for the next few months.

I'll be posting here daily. I also have to catch up on what's going on with everyone else. I'm sure you've all had much happening in your lives, too.

It's good to be home. It's good to be here. Thank you for being here, too.

This week's Theme: Weigh, water, walk.

So wonderful to see you but sorry that your last weeks were difficult. If you haven't seen my previous posts, I'm with you on the "freshman" 15, also mostly in the last few weeks. Too much going out and having wine, plus some binging, and a fair amount of depression fueling it all. I'm in the process of trying to get it under control but am not even stepping on the scale until I feel fully in food control. I know it is about 15 by my clothing (but it could be more...).

Welcome back, Ann! Lots of regain going on around here (me included). Recommitting as a group has to be easier than recommitting individually??

Good morning!

Liz, great job!

b150, I am still pondering your comment that the outside of you healed faster than than the inside. Lordy girl, ain?t that the truth even for the 99.99% of us without Whipples.

Must run but a pic below of the wheelbarrows of the yellow hard hats of the forest. I would have liked to have taken a pic of the workers themselves but that seemed rude. They are the oompaloopahs of the redwoods.
