Supah Sunday to you all! 3/31
Good Morning All - Monday again - I want the weekend back..... Had a good weekend. Spent most of i****ching DH dig a massive trench to drain the water from the back of the shed/house. We got very welcome rain but it nearly reached the back door again so it was time to prioritise this task. The pipes will likely go in once we finish the fencing. Yesterday we went to look at a couple of properties for DSD and her partner. 2 out of the 3 where good - I feel in love with the last one. An edwardian house that was moved up there from the city. It had such a cosy country feel - I could see them raising a family there. Saturday afternoon we went to a Hops Festival at Beechworth - DH was in his element tasting beers - we shared ribs, pork belly and smoked sausage. I was stuffed full
Weight 175.34 - down a smidge - need to focus
Plans for today are work - then I will go over and tend to my SIL farm for a bit. She is down in the city with her family. I also want to start cleaning up around here in preparation for Easter as we have ppl coming. I leave here on Thursday after work and wont be back up till after my operation - then wont be able to lift etc so best to tackle as much as I can now to take the load off DH
Was super excited to secure the purchase of these old farm pieces. We are collecting next Saturday and will drive to the farm. Thinking 2 of the smaller ploughs will be incorporated at our front gate and the larger pieces will reside in the house yard gardens. I love old things like this :) Such history. The best part is DH knows them all.
Have a wonderful day/evening all

We had a farm implement like the second one in your pictures at our former home of 20 years which was built on farmland!

We had the best time in Florida. We arrived Sunday night, friends of my parents had opened up the house and turned on the water etc, and left us muffins and those coffee tea bag type things so we would have breakfast in the morning. Monday was hot and sunny so we hung at the pool, napped and then drove to what used to be Downtown Disney, now called Disney Springs. For the price of a coke, you can sit on the shady patio of House of Blues and hear some first class musicians. I might have enjoyed something a little stronger than coke.
Tuesday we drove to St. Augustine. I am smitten, and am ready to move tomorrow. Aside from the economic disaster it would be for me to leave my current job, we also prefer a city with a major airport and we prefer the gulf to the Atlantic. Even so, the city was so vibrant, so visually stunning, so layered... I could overlook those "shortcomings".
Wednesday my adopted sister and her husband arrived and we spent the afternoon hiking around a nature preserve (is it hiking if there is absolutely no change in elevation), and saw several gators, and a multitude of birds, followed by a return trip to the Hose of Blues, where we had dinner and something stronger than coke.
Thursday more nature preserve, followed by dinner.
Friday, we drove the 1.5 hours to St. Petersburg beach, otherwise known as heaven. When I was there the beginning of February the water was a bit cold, but this week I had no problem getting in. If St. Augustine were transported here, I would commit financial suicide by quitting my job, selling my house, buying a trailer and moving, all the while praying I didn't get sic****il I turned 65 and got Medicare.
Saturday another gorgeous hot sunny day with a refreshing breeze. Did laundry, I wanted to get back in the bed after making it up with the freshly washed and sundried sheets. Some more pool time, lunch on the patio, cleaned the house, did the necessary house closing activities, locked up, and drove off. There's some work involved, but it's a lot easier than closing up a cabin in a winter state. Since our flight was so early, and we didn't want to rush locking up, we spent the night at a hotel close to the airport.
Now we are home and real life beckons, or calls imperiously, but cannot be ignored. Off to unpack, grocery shop etc. Weighing waits until tomorrow. Whatever I discover, I regret Nothing!
Greetings All
155 today. One modest slice of pizza for dinner. I think it has some secret kind of calories that are not yet discovered - like some sort of sub atomic particle. But I did eat some pretzels at the gallery - not a lot as there weren't many. Forgot to bring any food and then went foraging. I usually take cheese sticks but forgot. Think I could go 3.5 hours without eating? Apparently not.
Sun is out and I am slow to get moving today. But move I shall. Laundry needs doing, dogs need walks, studio needs attention as does bank.
Love all the house pictures. Liz its great you have so many trees. Hope you can do some serious relaxing.
Shel, you are right about the redwood trails. I knew a guy whose whole job was designing trails. He used to go all over the place for it. Can't imagine hiking those rocky ones. Part goat indeed!
Shirley those old farm implements look like fun additions to your farm. I so remember the state fair having exhibits of old farm equipment and watching the elderly farmers admire them. There is a museum here that has old logging equipment including something called the steam donkey. Never been there.
Well its 2 pm and I have done nothing useful. Time to get at it. Cheers all. Diane S

Hi all! Lazy hot sunny Sunday here. I walked the dog twice and made it to the grocery store for a limited shop, but that's the extent of my activities. I did buy lots of veggies and some chicken and thought I'd make a Greek salad recipe I found online. It has Israeli Couscous, chickpeas, bell peppers, red onion, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and parsley with a lemon dressing. We got to 84 degrees today so a salad sounds good for a change!
Shel, I want to lay down on the path in your first picture and stare up through the trees... The rocky path doesn't look conducive to prone tree pondering!
Attempt #2.... I wrote a nice post this morning, but it up and vanished when I tried to post it. Booooooo!
Anyhow, it was a glorious spring day here. This morning the sky was a crisp, striking blue backdrop against the soft, spring green of the budding leaves of the Black Walnuts, Creek Willows, and Blue Oaks that shade our lower yard. The pasture behind the trail is shorn by the sheep so it looks like a soft carpet just right for a picnic blanket. I love this time of year. The ancients really understood Spring is the time of rebirth. I feel such joy this time of year - everything comes together in the perfect storm to promote happiness: longer days, the soft pastels of nature budding out, the sounds of the song birds' arrivals, the bleating of the neighbor's sheep... You'd think I lived in the country, not the burbs....
Food was much better yesterday. I spent some time last night rereading the 21DSD preparing myself for what is to come. I do have anxiety around this challenge. I am reminding myself, as the book suggests, that I am capable of doing hard things. I have done many difficult things in the past and can certainly do so again. Peps is pep talking himself.
