Still no weight or tracking, but just posting here yesterday helped me make some better meal choices. However there was still some wine and cheesecake...
Thank you all so much for your concern! You are such a caring family! I was able to go back and read the discussions since I had last posted and it was so nice of you all to be thinking about me. My ostrich ways need to change soon and posting here is definitely the first step.
DH has been doing fairly well the last couple of weeks after 2-3 really difficult weeks before that. But he is degrading a bit. One friend has a theory that the full moon affects him, so I am going to pay attention to that next week.
DS goes home today which makes me sad, but I have an 80th birthday party to attend mid-day, followed by a much needed hair appointment. I sure hope I am in as good shape and as lively as my 80 year friend when I reach there in 16 years. About 20 of us are having a surprise party for her at the local college, catered by the culinary arts students. Should be fun!
Time to run (well walk really). Have a thoughtful Thursday!
Here is a picture of a dolphin from our boat trip with the boys on Tuesday:

Good morning all !! It is supposed to make it to 80 today !!! Just had a nice long walk with Sadie. DC and I walk the pair often, and I alternate long walks with Sadie and Atlas. Sadie is a bit constipated, so we'll add canned pumpkin to her diet to soften things up. We continue to eat our main meal out at noon, and supper at home. My body so prefers that. I had a great tour of some back channels of our salt marsh yesterday, seeing a whole new view of some of the grand homes around us. It was quite windy, so I stayed out of the main channel, for the most part, allowing the sea grass to buffer the wind. My kayaking muscles are cooperating, and paddling against the tide is very doable. Love, love, love it here...I'm way off the serenity scale...appreciating the endorphins !!

My stomach has been bothering me again recently. I'm excited aobut food. But then it never quite does it for me. I had Chinese food for lunch. Ick. I looooved Chinese food before WLS but now it's not the same. It always makes me feel icky. when will I learn? Rice is not my sleeve's pal.
My MIL left today. I feel pretty proud about how our visit went. she's very opinionated and blunt about it and usually thinks she's right even when she's wrong. (Ex: asked about middle names we like and she immediately poo-poo'd it, as she does all of them, also attributed it the wrong origin, states that we're "crazy" for having Becca rear-facing although our state law now states children under 2 must be rear-facing etc.). Those things I let slide off. We don't see her often, I probably won't change her ways or mind, and it wasn't worth it. And ultimately she loves my baby and my husband and that's good enough for me :) I even let her "help out" (which is HUGE for me since I'm a bit OCD...dishwasher normally needs to be filled the "right way"...there is a "right way" haha to maximize space and cleanliness.) But I'm a recovering Type A. I'm starting to notice I cannot do it all by myself and it's nice to have help. Even if there's a better way, not everything needs to be done the best way!
tonight is photography class. I feel like I'm chasing my inner Ann :) And I love it
Good Morning All - No farm duty at SIL's this morning so Im sipping a cup of tea and relaxing. They got home yesterday and popped over in the late afternoon - she bought me a beautiful gift - which I told her was not necessary at all. This is what family does

Happy Pi Day! A student's t shirt: my password is the last 4 digits of Pi. ;) Why I love teaching teenagers, always a laugh sometime during the day.
So there was of course, pie on Pi Day. I planned for it, picked a piece from a homemade pie (mixed berries). It felt good to choose with control, eat what I wanted, and toss a few bites that I did not want because I felt full. I did not go back for seconds. Such a small thing for "food normies", but a big thing for someone like me.
I just got back from visiting my SIL in the nursing home, she's recovering from a debilitating infection after her chemotherapy. She told me today she used the toilet for the first time in two weeks. (She's using adult diapers). We joked that when I come for my next visit she will tell me she used the toilet two times in one day, and we'll know she's getting stronger. I told her the rain is melting the snow, and the first warm day of spring, I want to sit on her deck with her, and I'll have a glass of wine to celebrate, and she said she'll have a virgin strawberry margarita, well blended. Such a small dream, but please God, let her get strong enough to come home. And let me really feel gratitude for such small small things like the ability to use the toilet when I need to, and walk a few steps. Everyday blessings rain down on me.
I hope your SIL and you get to have those moments of joy. DD had a colostomy and urostomy for the last 7 months of her life, so I know what you mean about simple pleasures like using the toilet.

Quick check in this evening. I'm off to Kentucky tomorrow for a "floating" national specialty. It's a good entry. Lucky was Reserve Winners Dog today (which is the equivalent of 1st runner up, or as we like to say in the dog show world, "First Loser". LOL) I saw online that Diane S.'s Tesla got the same award as Lucky today at her show.
My eating was utterly and completely ridiculous yesterday. Luckily, I was back in moderate control today.
Back is feeling much better after a chiropractic visit and a good night's rest.
Took kids on a field trip to the One Room Schoolhouse today. They had a lot of fun - as every class does. Such a fun experience for them. I've posted pics from previous trips there, so I will spare you! It was a glorious spring day here. Brisk, windy, crystal clear, but the temp crept up into the mid 60s. I was loving it. I even got a bit of a wind burn/sun burn on my cheeks!
Not sure I will be able to post/check in over the weekend, but I will be back on Tuesday for sure!
