Good Morning! Today I have some weekend chores, and then this evening my Controversy Club meets. Our topic is The Science of Happiness. It's been some very interesting reading. Hope everyone is having a serene Sunday.

Good Morning!

DD, I would love something iike the controversy club! Maybe some day. Peps, tiz amazing how long snot lingers! Good job at the gym! (I hope you aren't pushing yourself too much while recovering from snot.) I LOVED that Chinese Crested. Her before picture looked like something out of a Disney animated movie. You turned her into a starlet. (Or, maybe leading man, I can't remember the gender)

DianeS, occasionally I google Crescent City roads and have seen open/close/open/close. I'll be sure to be watch closely the day/hours before I head down. About the nighttime eating, I gain weight if I don't keep it in check. Just a calorie thing.

There is a routine pic below, you have seen various pics from top of Mt Si before. However, you have never seen a chill trail kitty! I have never asked to take a picture of someone's dog, but I couldn't resist a picture of the first (and probably last) trail kitty I have ever seen. His name is Moose, purebred Siberian. His first hike was at Mt Rainier when he was about 6 months old.

Have a great day! Shel

I am not a cat person. I love Moose!

Pretty sure our remaining cat would love to come on a hike, except he would want to be cradled in someone's arms. We refer to him as an animated stuffed animal.

Greetings My Friends

No weight today. Forgot and now I have had too much coffee to weight. Hows that for an excuse?

Shel, love the hiking cat pictures. Isn't that just like a cat? A dog would walk and hike. The cat gets you to carry it around. Beautiful kitty. Beautiful hike.

And Shel, I saw a video on facebook about the 101 south of Crescent City. Put on by the town of Gold Beach which of course is a major tourist spot. Showing that the detour road is fine. Looks unpaved.

OceanDiane that photo is fabulous. Looks like a wonderful place. Have loads of fun.

Its sunny and calm here and DH is out walking dog Chip having already walked Tesla. Its good he is walking again.

Gallery duty again today. At the fresh fudge place. Since its sunny we may get visitors as people will be out and about. So fewer toys needed I hope.

I finally got all the papers and stuff boxed up and put away in the back bedroom. Freed up an entire file drawer and then some. An emotional and physical burden removed indeed. Clutter removal is good for the soul.

Diamond did you get another boatload of snow? Hope you stay cozy and warm. Controversy Club sounds fun. But what if everyone agrees?

Well time to tidy up. More later maybe. Diane S

We got 5-6 inches, so when it started as rain that helped a lot! The sun is out, and we are not plunging down into the deep freeze like previous storms. Forecast of 37 degrees this week is causing mass euphoria!

Controversy Club: We haven't had a topic yet with unanimous viewpoints :) lots of personality in this group. We are different ages, religious denominations, grew up in different parts of the country with widely varying cir****tances, hold diverse political views... but we all agree on civil discourse. I just love it. And now that I think about it, I just described our group here :)

Happy Sunday all! Ugh, despite being light later, this time change is not my favorite of the two. I love my sleep and this one steals it!

Not much going on here. Laundry, nose blowing, taking the trash out, walking Ferg. Typical Sunday.

Love the trail kitty, Shel!

DiamondD, ought to be interesting to here how your group makes happiness into a controversy!

It was a very interesting discussion. There is a lot of research about the Science of Happiness, and some of it can be in opposition to other each other. Do we have an obligation to teach empathy in school, (which some say leads to personal happiness, and certainly improves the lives of others who encounter empathy), how do you deal with partners and friends who derive happiness differently than we do, are we obligated to join them in support, or they us? If I go to something to support my friend , family member that brings them happiness, but it's not my thing, does the happiness we gain from altruism make it worthwhile? Just a sampling. :)
