Four more sleeps before we go ! I spoke with the owners yesterday, and when they heard about the ongoing snow and temperatures in the 20's all week, they said we could arrive ANY time Saturday, waiving the 3PM requirement. If the dogs are settled and we rotate driving, we could drive straight through, although arriving at some place you have never been in the dark can be challenging.

I love hearing about all of the strategies for storing off plan food belonging to spouses! DC isn't quite with the macro plan... he thinks it is all about calories until some famous runner or health expert talks about healthy fat, low fat often meaning extra sugar etc. , then all of the things I have repeatedly explained are suddenly validated and correct. I do like a protein drink from time to time, and currently like the Adkins 30 grams of protein, where he prefers Slim Fast. I usually do Quest bars and he prefers low calorie granola bars with minimal protein. We run into trouble when he eats through his stuff and works on mine, leaving my stock too low at times (and not telling me, so I can replenish). Big deal, little deal, but looking for either of these examples and finding NONE would be a big deal.

Not much to report here! Boring day yesterday. Trainer later today in her new gym.

I was very sad to see Luke Perry died today. Definitely a heartthrob from my youth and seemed from all accounts to be a really genuinely good guy. I seem to be entering that age range where my counterparts start dying of non-accidents...

Diane, so exciting you are heading to warmth soon!

Hmm... where is everyone this merry Monday?

I think, I'm pretty sure, I'm on the mend. No fever since yesterday afternoon. I'm hanging out in my normal range which is low to mid 97s. Heavily, heavily congested. Lots of bronchial and sinus congestion. It is bothersome and annoying, but I know it will clear eventually. Since I am feeling much more like myself, maybe I will shave today! Hell, on Friday it was enough to just get my teeth flossed and brushed! Shaving is a true return to normalcy. ;-)

I'm feeling well enough that I think I must say goodbye to my flu induced Carbo Quickstart Diet! I have lost a good solid 4 pounds since falling victim to the microscopic critter. It is now time to start the transition to the Keto Quickstart. I beseech the spirits of the universe to support me in this! Cuz, sisters, it ain't gonna be easy for this meat and potatoes and pie and ice cream type of guy to do! I just have to remember that I can do anything I really set my mind to doing.

I watched a movie yesterday on Netflix. I am going to highly recommend you all watch it. It is called Dumplin'. It is not the best movie ever - not even close. BUT it speaks to obesity and the mind trip it can do on everyone close to someone who is obese. I enjoyed it very much. It's sort of a teen Rom Com, with Dolly Parton Drag queens thrown in for good measure! Anyway, I could identify with Dumplin' on several levels.

Looking forward to a week of getting back in the groove and recuperation.

theme for me today: Slow and steady is my pace!

Glad the fever has broken Peps - well done on the weight loss but wi**** wasnt due to suffering a horrible flu. Good luck with the keto - my task tonight is to try and read to the menu section of the book so I can start planning

Bonjour Tous le Monde!

156 today. Dinner last night was mostly veggies and 3 shrimp. DH loves his cold shrimp from Costcovia but I am craving veggies. I think I will pick up more from the health food store deli.

Yay OceanD! Four days to warmth. Go for it. My DH drinks a lot of Atkins shakes. They have some new flavors that are appealing like mocha and caramel. Wish they came in chicken pot pie flavor.

No rain so far. The little lakes in the pastures are receding. Lucky for all the cows around here. For awhile they were huddled in little hills. Still, most of the time this would be a great place to be a cow.

Gallery duty today. They will be rearranging shows so there will be a little activity. Good on what will otherwise be a boring Monday.

The big news is that two little girls, who were lost in the woods to the south for nearly 48 hours, were found safe. There was a HUGE effort by coast guard, law enforcement and firefighters to find them. They apparently used survival skills learned in 4H club to help get through. What a relief. By all accounts a nice family not neglectful. Yay.

Well I got some of the things on my list done. Laundry, got the tax papers sorted and some clear off of desk. But after the clear off , it only got messed up again sorting the tax papers. But I got enough through the list to contact the CPA. Taxes, the final frontier........

Just read an article from NPR on how the sugar industry influenced researchers to claim fat was the villain in dietary heart issues, not sugar. More to be learned from this.

Time for more Bullet Proof coffee. It sort of grows on you. Diane S

Good Morning All - Just back from letting out SIL feathered babies and watering her vegetable patch. We had some rain late yesterday while I drove up so thats helped a lot. Currently looking at our cows who have moved to the house yard fence so they can moo at me - they want to be let into the house yard so they can have the better feed but need to spend a few more days in the Jenny Craig (diet) paddock) as they are HUGE. Need to regulate their weight so its easier for calving when that happens. They tell me everytime they see me that they most certainly do not agree with this theory. Love them to bits - such characters!

Quieter day today - have to pop into town to post some Xrays down to my SIL in the city. Will likely do that at lunchtime and grab something for lunch at one of the cafes as a treat.

No weight today - I raced out the door just on light to go to SILs farm

Hope you are all well :)

Shirley

2 days without Liz posting? I really am a novelty seeker, but some changes I do not like.

My official weight loss this 2nd full week of keto eating is .6 pound, bringing my two week total to 5.8 pounds. Back in the (obese) day, I wouldn't be able to notice or feel that amount of loss, but I can now. Some of it came off my neck and my pendant necklace is hanging a little lower. I haven't woken up with a snort and a gasp this week. It appears the excess weight on my neck was ushering in sleep apnea again, but just a small weight loss helps it recede. I will keep taking it one day at a time. If I could steadily loss .5 - 1 pound a week, I'd be quite happy, if I lost more per week, I would be ecstatic.
