Weight 127.6, calories about 2000. We (SIL and I) were up very late waiting for DSD to arrive, then talking. So not much sleep was had but a fair amount of wine and snacks were consumed. I did make low-carb lasagna yesterday and it came out great!

DH was in a nasty mood along with a confused one yesterday. Not easy to deal with. It will be interesting to see how he interacts with DSD today since he was not very responsive to other DD.

The weather is beautiful today so we can pretty much do anything, but will see what DSD is interested in. Tonight we are going out to dinner with friends somewhere on the water.

Have a satisfying Saturday!

Morning, Mates!

Peps, what a fast moving bug! I hope it moves on quickly, too. hopefully carrying off a couple of lbs, too. I like Whole Foods chicken soup. Even the one with noodles isn't all that many carbs. (Still, I usually get the other one)

Liz, so glad DSD is arriving. DianeS, are you a fan of the bullet proof guy? I have listened to many of his podcast interviews while hiking.

Ann, it is such a pleasure to enjoy your company on the board, but I am even happier about your the Mardi Gras Immersion Experience.

BB, let go of the cake. You can't go wrong with any of your options.

Rainier is 16 weeks away. More importantly, Iowa trip is 2 weeks away and Redwood/DianeS trip is 3 weeks away.

Be good to yourselves, today. Let go of your respective cakes.

Shel

ETA a link of how to lessen chance of memory loss. No magic bullets here, still I feel compelled to share. NYT's preventing memory loss article

?Let go of your respective cakes?.

Sometimes mine are so very carefully constructed and beautifully decorated and invested of time spent that they become precious to me despite the final outcome.

Any investment, poorly made, needs to go. (Now, where did I store that cake? And why am I keeping hold of it?)

Oh, my gawd, Bonnie! That's unbelievably beautiful! And it would be right in line for Mardi Gras. How in the world do you create icing like that?!

Gosh, folks- I hope you don't think I created this!!!! (My attention to cake decorating details is limited to placing the correct number of candles on the cake- and even that is not a given...)

Ann- I believe the effect is gotten through the use of stenciling and airbrushing techniques- subtle layering of color saturation.

Thanks Shel. Alas, DH was very active as long as he could be especially as a bike rider. Unfortunately in his current state it is hard to get him to do much other than walking Justice. But it is something the neurologist and psychiatrist have recommended. His BP has always bordered on low. In terms of challenging activities, his job was obviously that until he couldn't do it anymore and he was an avid reader for many years but that's pretty much done. I tried getting puzzles but he isn't interested. He actually seems to have done more mentally challenging activities of late at the daycare which is part of why I decided it was good for him to go.

Liz, I was thinking more about those of us not yet affected. I know your DH is a good example of how one can do everything right and still end up with a terrible outcome. I am sorry if the post felt like he had somehow done something to cause it

In my work, I see so much hope and money invested in supplements but an unwillingness to do what it takes to keep blood pressure low so this article spoke to me

No, I didn't take it that way! I think it is important that we all pay attention to what we can do to reduce our risks!

On a happier note--Peps, this is little Noodle. When I first noticed Facebook, I was shy of setting up an account. Noodle, being the courageous and socially outgoing creature that she was, volunteered to create a page that I could use. It is her account.
